Alleged AMD Radeon "Big Navi" Prototype Pictured

Good to see it tested in a clean and sterile environment.

I wouldn't mind buying that cooler, looks excellent cooling solution for pushing the card

Vya Domus, 512bit means 2900xt sindrome, or maybe after all these years later they managed to lower data moving consumption.

big navi (navi 21) will have likely 384 bit mem, 24GB, 80 compute units, ~3080 perf?
this is most likely "middle navi" (navi 22) 256 bits mem, 16GB, ~64 compute units -> ~3070 perf?

BIG Navi ~ 3080 Perf
BIGger NAVI ~ 3080 Ti Perf
BIGgest NAVI ~ 3090 Perf

sounds about right.

But how about its POWER CONNECTOR? I need a lots and lots of renders, 'leaked pics' and real pictures by custom cards makers!
It has at least one 8 pin, the second may also be 8 pin.

I think biggest Navi's performance would be somewhere between 3080 and 3090. Assuming it is why Nvidia left a huge space between this cards. And the 3080ti would be an answer to it and would be designed/made according to.

Guys, stop dreaming. Without DDR6X, HBM2 or a 512bit memory bus, there's no way AMD can catch up to the 3090, or the 3080, the memory bandwidth can't be big enough, and Nvidia has a better memory compression algorithm.

Has to be fake, follow from the socket down to the cooler supposedly keeping the GPU cool, it's miss-aligned.

The heatpiepes are oriented to the right if you look closely.

Not long ago people used to had the same opinion for Intel cpus versus amd cpus right before the amd zen series.
Now and if amd is second after nvidia on gpu it's not a shame at all, and still they are more friendlier for the consumer than the others.

Greed is a must for today's standards.

Mrrmmm, I remain unconvinced.

Anyways, the leaker sure could have given hi/her system some TLC. It looks like it's been in a dust storm, who would put such a beast of a card into such a machine? It's a scandal, lol.

Greed is a must for today's standards.

They are all corporations seeking for biggest profit.
The only reason they look friendlier to consumer because they don't want to go under by charging consumer less than competitors do.

The text "Typical" on the labels indicates a backyard modder, it's easy to put an label "Big Fucking Navi" on a card.

The only thing that Nvidia would always be better than AMD is lying. Anything else is achievable.

I'll reserve my thoughts on the GPU when Oct release info arrives. Still got plenty of time.

This did at least generate a lot of talk. Maybe AMD further looking to see what people think?

The specs must be set in stone by now, but I think we have to wait quite a bit more to know them. There might be quite a lot of fake leaks and misinformation coming out before we do.

64mm hole spacing indicates a big GPU like Fiji or Vega10/20. But only 256bit because of only 8 memory chips.
Weird card...

But then again, a 512bit memory never was never an option, IMO. Too much die space, complicated PCB and high power consumption...

Yeah, hence why I feel it isn't necessary to speculate right now. Just because someone was right before hand regarding the previous GPU leaks, doesn't mean he is right this time on NAVI 21.

And if it's engineering sample, it may be different than final product.

cool, story bro

Greed is a must for today's standards.

Second is not an achievement when there are only two players in the game.

Why?

It is only one part of achieving needed memory bandwidth...

The other is the memory frequency, and we know what the limits of GDDR6 are. We also know GDDR6X is not available to them just yet.

One thing for sure is that this ain't a 300W GPU judging from that small cooler.

How does that work ? A wider bus can only mean higher performance not lower.

Small? Did you miss the massive tower hanging off the bottom or?

And how it works... reading comprehension is how it works. If they push straight to 512 bit on this version, they have no headroom to take it a step further. And they'll need to anyway if any catching up is to be done. But yeah, its all guesswork at this point anyway.

But a gap of 256 bit and 512 bit seems pretty excessive for a Navi 20 range, to me. It means one of two things... neither is a great outlook.

Well, if they oc the s#it out of that memory, they could still achieve over 600GB bandwidth, enough to beat the 2080Ti, not enough to beat the 3080.

It looks like a 92mm fan on fairly small heatsink, probably no more than a 150W GPU, I don't know how you could possibly call that massive. Look at the stock AMD cooler above and compare the sizes of the two.

Why would they need to take it a step further ? A 512bit wide bus means bandwidth somewhere in the region of 800-900 GB/s.

Quite right. We probably shouldn't take the claimed 256 bit for granted as max.

On the same line of thinking, there is no reason to think only Nvidia can use GDDR6X, it's not at all an Nvidia exclusive.

And yeah, that leak looks fake as hell.

BIG Navi ~ 3080 Perf

Biggest Navi is 485 or 505mm2, 3090 is 627mm2.
We were told 8nm Samsung sucks, but it has higher transistor density than 7nm 5700.
