You can hardly record specific spikes when you are measuring the energy from the ACV side.
This is a mistake that many do and they should stop doing it.
Naturally such a change it will require significant cash investment in equipment, but there is no other way if they are up to deliver realistic product comparisons.
I'm obviously not talking about people measuring AC power draw. I'm talking about people measuring GPU-only DC draw from both the PCIe slot and power connectors. Sure, lots of people still do what you say, but that's a mode of measurement that's barely any better than software readings.

The ideal test setup this is something that I am refusing to talk about it in public.
But so far I am not impressed from what I have see as product of improvisation of what those reviewers use as test setup.
