EVGA has launched their halo RTX 30-series product in the form of the RTX 3090 KINGPIN Hybrid graphics card. The pricing is there to match as well, at a full, fat $2,000. For that money, you get a hybrid-cooled graphics card that ships with a 360 mm AIO and has an incorporated OLED display for graphics card monitoring (voltages, temperatures and clocks) or animation display. The card also features some of the highest Boost clocks available in the industry for the RTX 3090 SKU, set at 1,920 MHz Boost.

Being a KINGPIN edition, the graphics card is an overdesigned, overbuilt tank, with its 23 phase power stage design on the 12 layer PCB. There are not one, not two, but three BIOS settings (normal, OC, and LN2) for those who want to submit the card to extreme cooling methods. For detailed voltage monitoring, the RTX 3090 KINGPIN Hybrid has EVBot and Probit-IT headers exposed. The card is only available for EVGA Elite members, a rewards program for EVGA users that rewards recurring customers or anyone that's active in the EVGA Forums.

Soooo....

If it's attached to a 360mm rad, why does the card need an additional fan onboard ? I know it is o/c'd bigtime, but still....

Also wtf is up with that flip up name tag....looks really stupido IMHO....

When I saw the $2k tag, I really expected something much moar special, other than the AIO cooler & some silly graphics....

Funny, $2000 is already the 3090 due to shortage. Where I live you can buy plenty 3090 for $2500 each and so far nobody is buying it for $2500.

additional fan is for VRM and memory cooling. Also this car and many cards with Kingpin name has pins to check vital voltages. its basically car for Hardcore OC'ers

Someone should start a poll. Subject: how many more GPU generations before they start coming with an installment plan on the side?

I had a chance to snatch up a 3090 at my local Micro Center last week....but the idea of dropping nearly $1900 after taxes made me cry. I couldn't imaging spend around $2150 with taxes on this beast.

I'm hoping to get a new build put together in the next month or two (depending on availability of parts) for around $1200. I can't believe folks will be willing to drop this kind of money on one of these cards, that's just freaking crazy.

Hmm, great temptation, resist I must.
It will be sold out by scalpers and resold for $3000 and morons will buy it.
Unlikely. As it is, it's not available for the general public:

Only $2000, I may need to get two and use one as a backup for playing minecraft at 1080p.

Makes me happy to live in a state that has no sales tax.... Not that I'd buy this card, or any 3090 anyway, though I would like a Sapphire 6800XT Nitro, but I can't really justify replacing my 5700xt nitro just yet as I'm not so much of a 1337 gamer or have a 144hz+ monitor to justify it... Though I would like it

From what I'm seeing I don't see any sizeable overclocking headroom with any of the other releases. Will this one be any different?

Not that i'm interested in the 3090 but just a wanderer...

those hoses just dont long enough, nor is it expandable. Despite the large radiator, I expect cooling to be only marginally better than fully fledged air cooling.

In the past, at least on the 2000 series, only the GPU is cooled by the radiator. The memory and VRMs have a heatsink on them which the fan cools.

You'd be surprised. The 2080 Super Hybrid I had ran at 58C peak with a 120mm radiator the...FTW3 ITX rides into the upper 70s. I know this is 50% more watts, but its also 3x more radiator. It doesn't need expansion and has plenty of cooling behind it.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
EVGA will sell these to people with more money than sense, which is why they keep getting made.

For the rest of us there are three things to consider:

  1. At four times the price of a 3070, it is not even close to four times faster.
  2. It is unlikely to make any game's story, mechanics, or bugs magically better.
  3. A 3070 at 1440p actually runs games 25% faster than a 3090 at 4K.

So, Chrispy_'s advice is to Just buy a really nice 1440p high-refresh monitor with the $1500 saved; Not even the 3090 can really do high-refresh at 4K so why even bother?
