NVIDIA today released the latest version of its GeForce Game Ready drivers. Version 457.51 WHQL adds support for the new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card which goes on sale today. It also addresses a handful issues. To begin with, a BSOD noticed on machines with "Ampere" GPUs, when waking the machine from sleep, has been fixed. A bug seen with FreeStyle or Ansel launching and closing on "Star Wars: Squadrons" causing the feature to stop working on supported games, has been fixed. A BSOD seen when playing or browsing videos on the Google Chrome web-browser has been fixed. Lastly, display corruption noticed on the Lenovo Y740 notebook when waking up from sleep, has been fixed. Grab the drivers from the link below.

Since installing these driver my idle temps are way better went from 35c to 25c.

What was your previous drivers version? Just the one before it?

@Anth0789 did you notice if your fans are running faster now?
I have an MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gaming X with idle stop fans. Since this update, no matter the GPU temp, fans would run at 68% - 2300+ RPM being louder than in gaming even, thus lower GPU idle temp.
I could not get the fans go to idle stop from MSI Afterburner either. Had to rollback to drivers 457.30 and works just fine again.
Was wondering if someone else was having the same issue as this is the first time it happens to me.
Regards,

Regards,

Nope my fan speeds are the same as it was on the previous drivers. I do see that the clocks are running lower on idle which is why it runs less hotter for me.

Ok that explains it then. Just curious which card do you have?

Still not able to upgrade until they fix the DSC bug with displayport 1.4 to hdmi 2.1 adapters...

is that bug the one that prevents the adapter from doing 4k60?

I mistyped the HDMI version. My adapter is DP 1.4->hdmi 2.1, and can do 4k@120... at least on the right driver version.

I installed this with my 3080 FTW3 Ultra.
Previous driver was set to prefer max performance, because preventing idle downclock has fixed (well, worked around) black screening in browsers.
But the new driver will not even downclock in default optimal mode. Whatever i set there, idle clocks still not going down.
Is this how they fixed the black screen driver issue? Can anyone confirm this?

Still got crashing error on Cold War. Maybe it's just the buggy game or my 2080 super.
