So there is no point in a hub. There are millions of splitters out there working just fine.
The x8 splitter costs around 3 Eur.
The "smart" hubs are what is really needed.
Just recently i had to buy a crappy NZXT smart hub which can only deal with 3 fans, just because there are no other options available. And it costs 22 eur.

I always wonder how these large passive coolers would perform if they put two high performance fans on them. I am assuming they would perform well but not as well as the higher fin density coolers.

It is a huge chunk of metal. I wonder how it would perform. At least for me, it isn't about the application but the curiosity of potential performance. I am not going to buy a passive cooler and put fans on it.I love how people hear about a fanless cooler, and immediately want to put fans on it.

A minimal airflow can improve temps a lot. Just put some low rpm fans and you will get better temps and still no noise.I love how people hear about a fanless cooler, and immediately want to put fans on it.
