NVIDIA's recently-announced CMP (Cryptocurrency Mining Processor) products seem to already be hitting the market - at least in some parts of the world. Microless, a retailer in Dubai, listed the cryptocurrency-geared graphics card for $723 - $723 which are equivalent to some 26 MH/s, as per NVIDIA, before any optimizatons have been enacted on the clock/voltage/BIOS level, as more serious miners will undoubtedly do.

The CMP 30HX is a re-released TU116 chip (Turing, sans RT hardware), which powered the likes of the GeForce GTX 1660 Super in NVIDIA's previous generation of graphics cards. The card features a a 1,530 MHz base clock; a 1,785 MHz boost clock; alongside 6 GB of GDDR6 memory that clocks in at 14 Gbps (which actually could soon stop being enough to hold the entire workload completely in memory). Leveraging a 192-bit memory interface, the graphics card supplies a memory bandwidth of up to 336 GB/s. It's also a "headless" GPU, meaning that it has no display outputs that would only add to cost in such a specifically-geared product. It's unclear how representative the pricing from Microless actually is of NVIDIA's MSRP for the 30HX products, but considering current graphics cards' pricing worldwide, this pricing seems to be in line with GeForce offerings capable of achieving the same hash rates, so its ability to concentrate demand from miners compared to other NVIDIA mainstream, GeForce offerings depends solely on the prices that are both set by NVIDIA and practiced by retailers.

so they're gonna help us gamers out by making a card specifically for mining.......but price them higher??? lmao good thing they saved by not putting output's on them

I imagine it's going to be pretty hard to sell these cards when mining tanks as it has already done in the past several times.

Oh look at all of you miners, tough guys, going "lol" etc. Nah, you will buy what is available and like it.

Now even miners are being played by Nvidia.

because a single retailer's price is trustworthy these days? did anyone bother looking at what they're charging for all cards?

rx 580 was selling for $60, delivered 30mhs and nobody wanted to buy, now that same 30mhs is around $720 and they think miners want to buy? When this crypto market crashes hard, I will laugh so hard. It will crash very soon.

not entirely on topic and probably a silly question but why....would you even sell products that literally just make money?
like why not just build them, keep them...and make money yourself? why doesnt big N just build a super computer with their own hardware and mine

Same reason on the gold rush, smart people were selling equipment instead of mining themselves and they were the only ones that got richer.

Sigh, not even slightly surprised ,it was always a way to maximize returns, wow just wow.

The funny thing is, the last (I think they're the last, because it makes sense to not make it anymore, but I never heard that Polaris-production stopped nevermind, they still mention Polaris in their 2021 Corporate Presentation, so I guess they're still in production) new RX 580s around are now selling for no less than 600 dollars on Newegg.

And then there's this dumbass selling one for almost two thousand dollars  *facepalm*

How could you know? I've been hearing this for several months but right now situation is even worse.

I guess nvidia doesn't want to sell the mining only cards too badly given that rather high price... They would be better off offering them for the MSRP of the normal card they represent. You are not going to break even anytime soon with that hashrate and at that price.

Smart business, I can see why AMD would offer mining cards too.

Probably are if it's that or nothing and at least they're butt f###@£ miner's not consumers this time ,They would have struggled to justify such prices on those chips to consumers while maintaining ridiculous MSRP figure's as legit.

I'd like to think we all expected mid-range pricing too.
