NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 30-series "Ampere" graphics card family is on course to a refresh, with at least four new Ti SKUs reportedly planned. These include the RTX 3050 TI, RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 3080 Ti, and the RTX 3090 Ti. From these, possible availability dates of the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti surfaced in a Wccftech report. The RTX 3080 Ti is expected to be available on June 3, 2021, with reviews going live on June 2. The RTX 3070 Ti, on the other hand, is expected to be available a week later, on June 10, with reviews going live on June 9. There's no word on availability of the other rumored Ti SKUs, such as the RTX 3050 Ti (desktop) or the RTX 3090 Ti. The RTX 3070 Ti is being designed to better compete against the Radeon RX 6800 under the $600-mark, while the RTX 3080 Ti is designed to check the Radeon RX 6900 XT.

I'm already pressing refresh....

Kidding.

Don't hold your breath for it. Nvidia build up that hype a couple of times since the start of the year, and pulled the plug at the last moment. I think this is the third time we are hearing an "imminent release" of the RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti. And then there's the issue of availability, or rather non-availability.

imagine lowerin hte price to compete better, thats just crazy talk, lets just assume releasing a sku for every pricepoint, that is the solution!

I wonder if that EVGA Elite preorder thingy will even work for Europe.

Why are they focusing so much on refreshing their expensive SKUs (3070 and 3080) that nobody can buy anyway, instead of releasing the 3050 series sooner? I can't understand nvidia's logic sometimes.

I mean, the x70 and x80 range (I would mention price, but that's quite impossible nowadays) are already occupied by both nvidia and AMD. It's the lower-midrange that needs more urgent attention.
I personally wouldn't mind a replacement for my low profile GTX 1650, either.

The problem is more, which was the point of that video, that if the 3050 or equivalent would be released today, it would be better but also cost more, so we would have stagnation in price/performance, that is the real problem

as often is said, vote with your wallet and it sadly seems a lot of people have voted....just not for the same thing I wish they voted for.
if it was up to me we would boycott all this nonsense.

I'll wait and see what happens... Nothing seems to have gone to plan yet..... So.....

That's one thing, yes. The other thing is the completely abandoned lower-midrange market by both manufacturers.

I totally agree. Besides, both my brother and a good friend of mine are stuck with GTX 960s, and they're fine. It's not like you need a super expensive GPU to run games nowadays.

Good thing i have a printer, can atleast print out a picture and wrap my 1070 in a 3080 Ti.

There they are, finally, now, let's see if we can get the LHR versions in stock and at MSRP, or still no buy from me.

Who F@&king Cares?! I mean seriously, they will cost $1.5k and $2K and possibly more after scalpers. Then you won't be able to get them!

I used to upgrade every 6 to 18 months because I was a enthusiast! But Ill tell you, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, and Crypto priced me out of the market!.

I'm done with building personal PCs! Its just too ridiculous in terms of cost now! And this is coming from someone who used to indulge in Quad SLI/Crossfire and the latest and greatest!

And it's really not only the cost, It's mostly the fact that you can't buy anything! It's always out of stock and if you find one in stock, its not the one you want.

I'm moving to consoles until something changes! Besides the latest gen Consoles are just mini PC's anywayz!

Not gonna happen. There's still a GPU shortage, and scalping to account for. :(

Heh, I remember times when GPU announcements were exciting.

Cards already cost double their MSRP and this before scalping.

Cards weren't truly LHR limited up until now. with ongoing pos and crypto crash we should get closer to MSR. As is stands the ETH hashrate grows by 100TH per month. that is a million cards every month being gobbled up by the wrong market now available. unless nvidia decides to allocate 90% to mining cards, it will show. i would get 70Ti if it comes close to 3080 or wait another 500 days till 40 series and ps pro..

I'm waiting for the ryzen 3+ comes out. We'll see how the gpu performs but I hope it will be sufficient for diablo 2 resurrected.

Probably because that's where the lions share of the profit margins reside and the law seems to allow moderately anti competitive grey area's that aren't in consumers interests like sandwiching two SKU's between a competitors new product then milk consumers pockets exponentially above and below the competitors SKU's in those gaps that can't be covered readily without a better R&D budget to squeeze you like board walk with houses on it. Stay awhile a Deckard Cains Boardwalk Inn and listen while I empty thy coin purse.

With the price hike and shortages, maybe, but generally speaking, no. The x80 and x90 cards are always niche products bought by only a few enthusiasts. The general public wants well-rounded, affordable cards.

Even with the limiters I suspect these cards will be fast enough to be profitable.

Yes, but the large profit margins are with selling those niche halo cards. They earn exponentially more per chip an thus need to sell less in total. At the very bottom of the market try selling a GPU with barely better than integrated graphics and earn much in the way of profit margins. Return on investment can be higher on the higher end niche products. That said too bleeding edge can also be costly on the yields and manufacturing side so there is a balance. What the general public wants is largely irrelevant to these companies over profits.

Half baked sincerity by Nvidia they did more to lock down consumer cards being repurposed to work as workstation cards.

Not really:

Also, with the ETH miner from Bitmain coming next month, which is 32x 3080 MH power... then there is also the network upgrades coming in the near future, further reducing profitability, up to the point where it won't be mine all, "investing" in mining now, seems to be stupid if you ask me.

Anyways, seldom do people listen to reason, so they will go ahead and do it no doubt, hopefully, they get rekt for their insolence, I have no more pity.
