Leaked Windows 11 Build Boosts Intel Hybrid CPU Performance

The recently leaked Windows 11 build appears to include certain optimizations for hybrid architecture processors. The developer preview provides a small improvement to Intel Lakefield processors and that boost will likely increase when Windows 11 officially launches. The Intel Lakefield processor family features a hybrid core design with 1 big core and 4 small cores, this is similar to the Apple M1 and similar hybrid designs are expected from AMD in the future. The Intel Lakefield Core i7-L16G7 CPU was tested by HotHardware and they measured performance improvements of 2% - 8% in various synthetic benchmarks including GeekBench 5, Cinebench R23, and PCMark 10. These performance improvements will benefit Intel's upcoming 12th generation Alder Lake processors and their Raptor Lake successors along with AMD's rumored Strix Point APUs.

That's good news like i had said FPS is what we all want, keep it up Microsoft.
 
Afaik it still resides the same NT10 kernel.

The uplift comes from something else... if anything... margin of error.
 
I have noticed a significant fps boost with the Cinebench R15 OpenGL test, my fps went from 104fps Windows 21H1 to 123fps with Windows 11 Pro.
This test was with an AMD XFX RX480 GTR 8GB.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing... Now some might dismiss such thoughts as "paranoid", but let's be honest, Intel has a long and well documented history of nefarious behavior, and what did they resort to the last time AMD presented a clear and present danger to their bottom line? Actively bribing OEMs to avoid AMD and all of which was proven in multiple courts of law around the world.... It has yet to be seen if I tel is doing something wrong, but they themselves have created the precedent. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm actively worried about AMD's success being a flash in the pan and the market returning to the abysmal years of quad core stagnation with 5% gen over gen performance improvements. Yes, AMD is riding high right now, but their situation is still very precarious as although they've made big strides in the DIY market, they are still fighting an uphill battle in mobile, OEM, and enterprise, all three of which represent a much larger piece of the x86 TAM. Yes, Zen4 will be impressive and successful, but the next three years will be arguably more important than the previous three with respect to ensuring we as consumers and enthusiasts retain a market that produces real improvements and competition.

If these hybrid chips are the future, windows teams will need to step up performance better than 8%.
 
What about non hybrid system since that's the biggest market ATM, also I kinda like the idea of having hybrid for desktop not only to keep the heat down but also to save the environment and all that jazz
 
I wouldn't mind a look at the leaked win 11, anywhere to grab it from?
 
That's about what my old Core i7 6500U scores in Cinebench R23 as well...am I supposed to be impressed?
 
I hope this is not a return to the dark old days of Wintel.
