LIAN LI Industrial Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of aluminium chassis and PC accessories, announces the ODYSSEY X, available in full black, and silver/black. The open airflow full tower is built with high-quality aluminium featuring a sandblasted anodized finish with innovative folding glass panels and modular frame, allowing easy transformation to achieve 2 distinctive looks and 3 configurations. Built to house large components, the Odyssey X is geared towards water cooling enthusiasts demanding nothing but the best in quality.

The ODYSSEY X is delivered in Dynamic mode straight out of the box, and includes the accessories needed to transform into either a Dynamic-R (rotate) mode for a chimney style setup, or Performance mode for a complete change in orientation and increased airflow. To achieve this level of transformation, each part of the ODYSSEY X has been engineered to serve multiple purposes. The dark-tinted left and right side glass panels feature an edge and hinge design that makes them compatible in both Dynamic and Performance modes while completely transforming the look. When in Performance mode, the same panel design allows for more air circulation in the case, improving the thermal performance of the ODYSSEY X.

Additionally, the modular design allows the motherboard tray, front, top, and bottom panels to be interchanged to achieve the Dynamic-R and Performance modes. To complement the transformable aspect of the case, the front panels of the Dynamic mode, which are positioned at the top in Performance mode, can be flipped to relocate the vent gap either at the center of the front panel or at the edge, simultaneously redirecting the airflow as desired and modifying the appearance and performance of the case.

Water cooling focused
All 3 configurations of the ODYSSEY X can house large high-performance water-cooled components such as motherboards up to EEB, radiator support up to 1x 480 mm, fan support up to 9x 120 mm or 7x 140 mm, and an included pump stand that is removable and adjustable to help users align their tubing perfectly. With power supplies of up to 280 mm in length supported, larger high voltage PSUs will fit with ease and style, thanks to the included removable shroud bracket which hides cables and gives the system a clean look.

German gamer and overclocker Der8aur also consulted to ensure the design of the ODYSSEY X is optimized. Thanks to his contribution, the final design of the Odyssey X has been fine-tuned for maximum performance and usability. Available in all black, or silver and black, the ODYSSEY X opens for pre-order starting June 21st, 2021, at MSRP $499.00 USD. For more information, visit the official product page.

The front of the case would block the user from seeing any front RGB fans. However if you're fully watercooling the rig then I guess this can be forgiven.

500??? That is crazy. Just buy a 719 for less then half.

I saw it and I am already regretting my decision on Evolv X that I just bought last weekend.

AND THEN... I looked at the price. Holy moly! Out of my range anyway... by a long shot.

Pretty happy with my EvolvX for CAD220, but on subjective side I like LianLi Odyssey.

Oh looks like you can change the orientation. From the other pics normal layout and the other pic, PSU all components are turned except the reservoir... nice concept

Just more shouty gaudy AF gamer trash. The people making this stuff wouldn't know good design if it bludgeoned them in the head with 10lb AL bar stock....

I miss the anodized AL timeless classic design that got Lian Li their name.

Yep, can't think up any new designs or creative approaches to case design, just take an otherwise ho-hum boring-assed boxen, slap some angled panel edges and tinted glass on it, and call it "new & innovative' design.

Although LIAN LI is/has normally been associated with high-quality cases, they really are tryin to screw da pooch with this one, uh huh, oh yea, 4 sure 4 sure, they did.... ESPECIALLY FOR $500 HAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!!!

Morning Monday GIF

But hey, at least they included a USB-C port on the front, so there's that

I don't get it its just bad design, not really even subjective at this point. Nothing else in world that has what anyone considered good design looks like this junk aside from the toys I had when I as 12. Nothing.... cars, furniture, clothing, electronics, just the DIY gamer segment of the PC industry. This is literally nothing but a random assortment of excessive overly aggressive angles, excessive physical footprint, and unicorn vomit light show.

It seems like the only interesting stuff in terms of design is coming from SFF side of things and Lian Li ironically actually do a lot of the contract manufacturing for some those products. One such example is the Skyreach from NFC, someone just needs to scale the aesthetic up to bigger form factors.

Looks like "DER BAUER" has been hard at work at Lian Li. Nothing like an "Alliance" between Taiwan and Germany. The case appears to be well thought out and be of real quality. I love the clean lines and looks of aluminum. I usually however purchase all of my cases strictly based on their looks. Very much like my blond girlfriend. Her outside attributes are clearly and immediately visible. She is high maintenance and expensive. FrIends noted: "Where did you find her? Dont you ever give her up!" The ODYSSEY X is in the same league, except it does not 'walk the walk' and does not 'talk the talk.' I now remember..."Beauty is clearly in the eye of the beholder."

Playing in the league of 1000D corsair price seems fair with quality that come with lian-li

Agreed. Which is why when I see the older case designs and I need a case I will buy it.

Hmmm.....I like it but I don't? I prefer the look of the Evolv-X, with its smooth lines and sleek appearance. This case, however, I feel like it's trying too damn hard to look edgy and overly aggressive. Plus, $500 is a big hell no, but if you're gonna spend half a grand on a case, might as well go even bigger and go for the Cosmos C700M or C700P from Cooler Master, or the Enthoo Elite from Phanteks.

Holy Crap, we get it. You don't like it. You don't need multiple posts and paragraphs of text to get that point across.

Also LL, have always made cases like this Snail, Sailboat, Train, Skyscraper(Burj Al Arab), they make one just about every or every other year with the same exact $500 price tag.

I personally prefer it this way. I always think that RGB fans visible from the front looks weird... I prefer a clean front panel, either solid with adequate airflow channel (front RGB fans are okay for ambient interior lighting), or mesh but with no LED fans. Glass front panel with LED fans are a no no for me too.
Three circular LED fans combined with a front rectangular build just doesn't look good imho, moreover it's an overly used visual elements in almost any cases available on the market right now.
I always appreciate a good front panel design without relying on RGB fans too much.

I've seen the snail case in pictures and even though it's old, it's still one of the crazier cases I've ever seen lol.

$500 and holds 3 hard drives.

Nautilus case?

its been a while since a "new" case was made with such large feet.

Pass, I'm not fond of tempered glass and that orientation, it looks too compact for the size.
I won't say anything about the price considering I own a Case Labs. :D

I started buying Lian-Li in 2003 and whilst features have improved since then, nothing matches the design language or build quality of cases from the middle of the '00s

Exactly.

I still have my 4 Lian-Li full Al cases from 10 years ago. IMO Lian-Li have lost their touch on the sleek/simplicity design they were known for.

For new PCs that I've built for friends and family, I've been buying Fractal Design cases. No they aren't Al, but at least they have the sleek and simple design similar to the old Lian-Li's from the 00's.
