Don't need to try it. Having a pretty good understanding of the design goals and constraints for speakers and a basic grasp of the same for headphones this has literally all of the downsides and compromises of both. Apply some deductive reasoning and there is no way way any of these can perform well, its marketing garbage.

When it comes to speakers Bose is the ultimate in "engineer by marking decree".

Ever since my $30 bluetooth speaker has became my main audio source, I am not sure what to believe in the audio world anymore. I have $150 2.1 speakers I like, $200 headphones I like, but 99% of the time I still listen to this little Oontz $30 bluetooth speaker and it sounds freakin amazing. I have no idea anymore. LOL

I see a niche use for these. There are a sizable number of users who wear the headphones around their neck and just turn up the volume to provide some noise without having head/neck fatigue or sweaty ears from extended headset usage, but at the same time, don't want a straight speaker because they're trying not to be too loud. This and similar solutions from Sony and Bose seem to fit that niche. Close enough to the ears without wearing them, but not requiring a large speaker setup or a bar in front of you. I don't realistically think one will be hearing footsteps all that well compared to proper headsets, but for general ambience, it should be plenty sufficient.

They're a bit late to the game...

It's a lot more action packed than the Sony...
Oh and it's €179.

Ok I was going to try to defend Panasonic, because they have some excellent engineers, but those ads... Jeebus christ man, they earned this thread. That top one looks like he took a pschyadelic and hopped straight into the shower for his trip.

Yeah, the two bottom images look like unwilling participants playing an interactive porn game as part of a distraction so that a physician can perform a rectal exam. Yeah, I know, my mind's going in the gutter.

Wig splitting sounds.

I got a Teknmotion Air Capsule Bluetooth speaker like 6 years ago off of Drop for about the same price, it sounds way better than its size and price would suggest and I am impressed by it every time I use it. It does this thing where it actually uses the surface its set on as low frequency transducer, it makes a huge difference in how full it sounds and surprisingly never sounds unbalanced. It even has a mic so I use as my "headset" for work meetings and apparently sounds "good".

That said it hasn't and I'm sure never will evoke an emotional response from music, let me hear things for the first time in songs I've listened to several times before, or make me errily second guess if what I heard was someone in the other room I wasn't aware of or if really was the movie I was watching (spoiler alert, it was the movie). All things my speakers have done.

Non-humble Tardian might have said: "with the greatest respect" I disagree, but chastened Tardian deferentially suggests:

Those KEF are the real deal.

The demigod likes the JBL Xtreme 2, which can (if you are deal-hungry) be obtained very cheaply. It has tolerable sound reproduction. My oldest son doesn't agree.

Does anyone who cares wish to comment on the above product (based on actual experience), as number two son (Dude) might like these for playing away games?

Stop the off topic posting and thread crapping.

Thank You.

LG had something like this 2 or 3 years ago. Nothing groundbreaking.
