The prices for NVIDIA Ampere and AMD RDNA 2 GPUs have increased 6% - 7% in Germany since August according to the latest report from 3DCenter. The report covers the period from January 2021 to September 2021 where prices reached 304% and 214% of MSRP for NVIDIA RTX 30 and AMD RX 6000 cards earlier this year before coming down to 150% and 153% respectively. We had hoped that this trend might continue downwards but these reductions have started to reverse with prices steadily increasing since early August. The latest period from August 29th to September 19th saw NVIDIA RTX 30 series prices increase from 159% of MSRP to 170% while AMD RX 6000 cards rose from 164% to 174%.

These price trends can be fairly closely attributed to the changes in supply as shown with the addition of an availability trend line to the graph in this latest report. The card which has experienced the largest price increase relative to MSRP is the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT which now sells for double the recommended € 649 price at € 1299. The least affected card is the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti retailing for 26% above it's € 1199 MSRP at € 1511.

I see AMD cards still priced horrifically high, compared to Nvidia's offerings at Micro Center stores. 6700XT still in that $850-950 range (give or take) when the 3070 that do show up from time to time are priced in that $750-900 range. The 3060Ti are not far behind the 6700XT and they can be picked up around $500-700.

I don't know why the AMD cards are so much more expensive than they probably should really be, but they are. It doesn't make sense AMD cards sit so high, still....it's a shame, really. I'd have been content with a 6700XT, but I wasn't going to spend $900+ on one. Thankfully I was patient and finally got lucky getting a 3060Ti for $470. Had the 6700XT been priced properly and at that $500 mark, I'd have picked on one up and went along my way, instead of waiting and waiting.....then again, if the 6700XT were priced better, they'd probably be flying off the shelves, too.

In a normal market the 480usd 6700XT is overpriced compare to 400usd 3060Ti anyways, unless you want an all AMD rig.

The RX 6700 XT are horribly priced because they tend to be the ones that exists on the shelves. So it means, if you want a GPU, then pay the premium. Ampere cards are generally scooped up in very short amount of time.

For the RX 6800 XT, doubling the MSRP is not unexpected because the performance it offers is really not that far off the RX 6900 XT. With 6900 XT selling for ridiculous prices, particularly high end ones, it will also bump up the prices of the 6800 XT. Where I am from, most RX 6900 XT are selling for a higher price than RTX 3080 Ti. High end models with water cooling, i.e. Sapphire Toxic series, can be more expensive than some RTX 3090.

According to TPU 6700xt is a better value (performance per $) in terms of performance if you consider both cards selling for MSRP. Not sure where you get that 6700xt is overpriced.

They are all overpriced but you can buy 6700 XT for $950 (indeed a horrifying price) but you can get it. It is available.
I noticed there is some availability of the 3060 TI's but the price is $875 (the cheapest I could find)

It seems AMD's cards are even rarer than nVidia, I see a bunch of Ampere cards overpriced obviously but available.

6700 XT is like 1500 $ where I live, same as a 3070.
Cheapest 3060 Ti is like 1000+ if you are fine with a Palit dual that is,6600 XT is priced about the same.

Thats from the biggest retailers ofc, funny thing is that you can get a brand new 'scalper' card in my country cheaper than the retail prices.
Availability is not really an issue here but the prices are, can find most cards in stock.

I don't care anymore since I'm good with what I have for the whole next year if it doesn't die on me but sometimes I check the GPU prices just for a laugh.

Sadly all cards are very expensive, the cheapest 6600 XT 8 GB is 600€, i find it overpriced even at MSRP, i probably would have bought it for 280€, but i will not pay for an 1080p card more than 300. The 1050 TI 4 GB cards are 200€ which was a 139 $/€ card 5 years ago. :kookoo:

Now i only have an RX460 2 GB, but i'n willing to pay overpriced products, so the waiting continues :D

W1zzard used "assumed market price" for 3060Ti as comparison, anyone who knows math can easily calculate

6700XT being 4% faster while cost 20% more when both are at MSRP, no idea how you can calculate that 6700XT has better price to performance than 3060Ti
Almost everyone see AMD as cheaper alternative to Nvidia, even if 6700XT were to sell at 400usd MSRP it still kinda hard to justify.

UK "In Stock" prices for 6700XT are like £720-£800. 3060Ti's are available at £650-£700. I'm not buying either though. Whether people reward scalpers or simply reward the normalization of +250% inflation (GTX 1060 & 1660's used to be £199, I managed to snag my 1660 (new) for £158 pre-boom), it's not good for the PC gaming industry either way the longer this goes on.

it will all go away at end of 2023 and everything will be cheaper again. just chill for now folks. go for a bike ride or swim, enjoy the stars. or just be a baller like me and contemplate philosophy in the mean time.

You may be right about the time-frame though there's no real need to even give up PC gaming simply due to running an older GPU for a couple of years longer than planned. Looking through my +2,000 collection last night, something like 98 out of the top 100 favourites were all 1993-2014 era games and if I were to downgrade to a 1050Ti, I'd still have more fun to play games than time to play them. During times of hardware shortages, sometimes it doesn't hurt to step outside of the "PC gaming = newest AAA on Ultra or 'that's it, I'm done with the whole thing...'" bubble until things cool off.

Well yeah but they are not selling for MSRP. I mean if you are lucky enough and got one for that price that's great.

Here it says 8%. Maybe you are comparing AIB to a reference card?

Well as I have calculated just now.
The cheapest 3060Ti costs $875 the cheapest 6700XT costs $950 so 6700XT is around 8% more expensive than a 3060TI which is more less the difference between those two in performance. They might be tied in price/performance not that the 3060TI is a better buy. Although it does not matter at this point. Both are extremely overpriced and prices are changing every day anyway.

Not going to bee resolved until they fix the yields problem realistically demand much higher than supply compounded by lower yields of larger chips.

All the reports i get from friends say the same month after month, no gpu's, i have no idea where that supply was increasing and i guess it was just a statistical anomaly.
LHR did made some cards a bit more avaiable and at "resonable" prices (for the times we live in)

Yup, I also checked through my backlog and theres not a single game on that list that I couldn't play with my 1070 so its like whatever. 'comfortably playing HZD nowadays'
Only interested in a few upcoming titles and those don't seem to be too heavy either or I can just tweak settings since I don't care about this only Ultra settings thing either.:) 'medium-ish with ~high textures are all fine with me in new games'

Will see how things are in 2023, until then I'm staying away from the new GPU market and just play whatever games I can which is most likely still more games than I have time for.

At this rate, I probably won't replace my 5700xt with a 7000 series until AMD releases the 9000 series

And this mining thing is such a ponzi scheme... An environmentally destructive ponzi scheme... Did you know that bit/alt coins have steadily been used less and less for buying real items as time has gone on... All the money is being made on speculation by the people who got in first off of the people who came later

I just took the graph from the latest TPU GPU review, 3060Ti just closed the gap down to 4% against 6700XT, that Nvidia Excellent Wine for ya.

So you were talking about MSRP, then switch to street price? what do you want to compare? 6700XT is just terrible price at MSRP and street price, that's why it's sitting on shelves and not the 3060Ti, kinda hard to defend the 6700XT.

Not really. You took the 3080 TI and those cards 3060Ti and 6700XT are being compared to 3080 TI not against each other. You even have it in the article. Relative to the 3080 TI

You started talking about MSRP not me. MSRP is irrelevant as we all know.

True, lately they became really greedy, bumping up (MSRP) prices by 80-100 $/€.

On topic my brother lives in Germany and wants to buy VGA but prices went up by 100€ minimum, for example an RX 6600 XT, which was already pricey at 460-500€ (and even overpriced at 380 MSRP), now it is 600€. Sad and laughable.:banghead:

Just take the AVG FPS chart

average-fps_2560_1440.png

3060Ti 115.4FPS
6700XT 121.4FPS

Too easy to calculate USD per FPS
3060Ti at 875usd = 7.6usd/FPS
6700XT at 950usd = 7.8usd/FPS

so 3060Ti beat 6700XT in price to performance no matter how you put it.

What is sad is that prices have gone up slightly even here in Belgium. Cards are selling 50-70 percent above MSRP
