XPG is the first DRAM provider to reach this milestone with a DDR5 memory module. This achievement highlights XPG's know-how and expertise in pushing memory modules to their full potential. The record-breaking milestone was achieved with a DDR5 memory module with a stock clock speed of 4,800 MT/s.

The XOCL is dedicated to pushing the limits of memory performance and was the first facility of its kind among DRAM makers when it was founded in 2018.
XPG will be unveiling a lineup of DDR5 memory modules for gamers, PC enthusiasts, overclockers, and others in October of this year.

From what I've been told it's one MSI and one Gigabyte board.
 
What is the deal with the Ranks 1R and 2R. should we be worried that the notebook memory saga could repeat.
 
I am only interested when it is over 9000
 
Next: 10000MT/s with CL72...
Would be looser than 8000CL50.

Multiple ranks per channel allow the memory controller to interleave accesses so it doesn't have to wait as much. If you only have one DIMM per channel you *really* want dual rank (2R). For multiple DIMMs per channel it's less critical but more ranks is moar betterer.
 
I'm ready for some DDR5! it looks like the first picture has DDR5-6800 installed and the second DDR5-5200. Still a massive jump. Probably not on air though.

I like how the MB and chipset is blanked out. Like we don't already know from the leaks.

Well duh, of course the CL are high.

I started RAM overclocking with WITH DDR1, at 2-2-2-5 DDR600 (yeah, i had some sexy ram back then)
DDR4 latencies seem laughable in comparison, yet here we are

It'll be interesting to see them ramp up the MHz/MTwhatevers as high as possible, then see the latencies drop as they tune it in, in the coming years
 
So what is MT/s and why the change ? old style worked just fine.
