ASUS today announced the Dual Radeon RX 6600 graphics card, combining the latest ASUS technology with the new AMD GPU to deliver 1080p gaming experiences to the midrange market.

AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics cards bring the power of AMD RDNA 2 gaming architecture to the market. With support for cutting-edge DirectX 12 Ultimate technology including accelerated ray tracing, 32 MB of high-performance, AMD Infinity Cache, AMD Smart Access Memory technology and other advanced features, AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics cards includes the latest technology in image quality and performance. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 supports the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution open-source spatial upscaling solution, designed to increase framerates in select titles while delivering high-resolution gaming experiences.

About ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600
The ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 incorporates the latest graphics card technology from ASUS to power up any DIY builds. The graphics card cools the GPU using a high-surface area heatsink running through a robust fin stack to cool the GPU from the center. Twin fans built with Axial technology efficiently channel airflow through the fins while keep noise levels lower at a given RPM. A zero dB mode further reduces system noise levels by stopping the fans entirely when a system is idling at the desktop.

The fans and heatsink lie within an attractive outer shroud with angular chamfers, contrasting black and silver finishes, and a full-length aluminium backplate decked out with subtle graphics. The card's 2.5-slot design achieves an ideal balance of case compatibility and cooling capacity.

Equipped with Auto-Extreme technology, the ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 graphics card is built to perform over long haul operations. Auto-Extreme technology, used in the manufacturing process across the ASUS graphics card lineup, precisely places and cleanly solders surface mount components, resulting in a higher-quality final assembly.

ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 graphics card
  • AMD Radeon RX 6600 GPU
  • 8 GB GDDR6
  • PCIe Interface 4.0

I don't understand why this is such a big card for a 132W product.
The 170W 3060 Dual I have is 170W and is shorter both front to back and top to bottom.

The 130W 5500XT cards were tiny by comparison; The reference/OEM model was a single-fan short card, as were several of the popular AIB models.

Thought this was an Ares card or something at first. AMD dropping crossfireX has made some AIB partner models' naming a little confusing. Previously, the 'dual' moniker for cooking would be at the end of the product name.

Yep its a misleading name, some might mistake it as the card having two GPUs instead of referencing the two fans.

If my case have two fans, can I name it "dual case"?

Totally missed the non-XT 6600's launch. Though I can imagine what the real prices are for those even its MSRP is 329USD..

Probably cheaper for Asus to reuse the fan/shroud config they already use on a ton of their cards than to place orders on another one specifically for one SKU of a low-end card. Materials shortage still ongoing, etc. I think we'll definitely see more smaller versions going against each other when Nvidia decides to finally release 3050.

On the other hand, personally I don't mind having a larger heatsink and a dual-fan solution on ANY card, because it just makes them quieter.

EDIT: Just checked and Asus actually has smaller heatsinks on current high-end cards, and even Mini versions of 3060s so, yeah, weird.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that thought ASUS was making dual RX 6600s

To re-use existing assembly lines, parts and designs

The good news is sometimes we get better PCB's and coolers on low TDP cards, making them cool and quiet... and then we get an identical looking higher wattage chip on the same PCB and cooler that overheat and sound like my ex complaining

Entered thread excited for dual gpu... left flaccid.

Well, yes. I just assumed they'd re-use a smaller, cheaper heatsink than this. At the very least, it would make more sense to put the bigger heatsink on the 170W 3060 and use the 3060's smaller heatsink on this 132W 6600.

I'm not complaining, just curious why they made it bigger than an already-overkill cooler. The smaller 3060 Dual model is already a vastly more capably cooler than the single-fan 3060 variants.

Yeah, that was why I brought it up. It's not that it's particularly large compared to other things on the market as a whole, but it's large compared to smaller coolers on higher-TDP cards within the Asus Dual lineup.

$600.
Big Ooof :\

Same! i was looking for a dual GPU goodness, and its just bragging that OOOOOH WE HAVE TWO FANS

Moar cooling moar better :D Better have it and not need it than the opposite, this way you can push the OC a bit and still have it silent

Even at the reference MSRP 329$ it was already shamefully overpriced, in this market maybe it makes sense, materials are way up in price and in short supply, but price/performance went completely down the drain this generation. We already had 1080p cards for this price and bellow.

Dual has been around since RX 400 or R9 300. Dual is just 2 fans.

PCBs act as a heat dissipator as well. Besides these Dusl cards are just bottom bin cards like those from gigabyte/msi...

Better off going TUF or ROG...

That's not entirely true, AIB barely can bin anything since AMD/Nvidia already do that at the factory. In the specific case of the 6600 this cooler is already overkill, instead of spending more for TUF/ROG (that some times don't exist on lower end cards) it's better to buy the next tiered card (in this case the 6600XT or the 5700/5700XT from last year)

Who knows that Secrets the 6600 contains, i mean the pcb is the same as the xt model...

I must be at least the 5th or 6th to come here wondering why on earth Asus made a dual GPU card in 2021, with the lowest end product money can buy... glad to see it wasn't just me!

Pretty sure this isn't the first time ASUS called a graphics card with two fans "Dual" or "Duo" or "x2"

I really wish manufacturers would QUIT using the description of DUAL in a card name when its just a fan count reference.

DUAL is reserved for when the PCB has TWO GPUs, like the nvidia 690 and the Titan Z are DUAL cards.

IMHO

Its not, R9 200 or R9 300, RX 400, RX500...

No its not...
