Intel 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake" desktop processors will be available from November 4, 2021, according to a leaked Intel channel document by Wccftech. It confirms that Intel will only debut unlocked "K" and "KF" SKUs and companion Z690 chipset in November, with the first wave being limited to the Core i9-12900K, i9-12900KF, i7-12700K, i7-12700KF, i5-12600K, and i5-12600KF. Pre-orders of these parts, along with product announcements, are set to go live on October 27. Reviews of these processors will be published on the same day as retail availability, on November 4. There's no word on when the "locked" non-K SKUs and more affordable chipsets, such as the B660, H670, and H610, come out, but older reports suggest an early-2022 launch for those. Given that memory isn't tied with these dates, DDR5 memory modules should be available any day now.

Pre-order ???
Who and where ?

Haha! Preordering begins more than a week before the reviews. What is to hide there Intel?

Preorders 27th Oct and reviews 4 Nov. Isn't it fishy?

They've been doing this for a while I pre ordered my last 3 intel chips prior to reviews going live 5820k/6700k/9900k and they were all pretty great if somewhat boring cpus.

I won't be pre-ordering anything...

It's gonna sell out by tonight, I guarantee. Gotta CONSOOM more CPUs.

Really Intel?

E Cores are only from I5 12600K and up?, ok no reason to buy a 12500 or others

I'm really surprised we don't have better leaks at this point.

Anyway, I am not real optimistic about the scheduler in Win 11, it's not like MS has a great track record with that sort of thing.

I would bet it will take them 2 years to get it really sorted. It's too bad they don't have an 8+0 model, for those that want to avoid the negative potential of scheduling the wrong thing on an e-core. I have a hard time with why one would need 8 fast + 8 'slow' cores on desktop anyway. I'd rather have 12 fast and no slow cores on a desktop. To this day I still *very* rarely see anything in normal use (or games) that can effectively use more than 8 cores anyway.

I need to game on 8 slow cores just because I prefer ECO.

I prefer the Slow Cores, why ? look on the Performance from Gemini Lake Refresh those 4 Cores with 10w TDP are faster than my 7870K with 2 Modules.

My Dream is a CPU with 2 Performance Cores, 6 LP Cores and a 80 EUs IGP, in my case ther LP Cores will run 95% a day :peace:

Yeah for sure stupid Customers pay the prices for everything like u see with Ryzen 5000 and GPUs :kookoo:

I would bought a 4300g or 5300G Retail, but not as tray......:shadedshu:
But AMD dont need me to buy a APU from them, we will see in future :)

This is dumb. Consumers will wait on the reviews. Meanwhile scalpers will buy up all the preorders and there will be limited supply for consumers.

i dont think so cause Intel is not AMD with TSMC in the Background :)

Scalpers will fuck them self.

Just buy one and you will have a month to send it back if you use Amazon, just don't open it.

scalpers did just fine gobbling up 10900Ks so they'll do the same if the chips are good enough and in high demand. With that in mind, and especially in the current market, if you're hardcore Team Blue and really want to upgrade, if I were you I'd just preorder without waiting for any reviews to lock the price. Everyone in any slightest doubt should of course wait for the reviews.

said it before, but being able to pre-order before reviews are out is just off

Scalpers did nothing with the 10900K/F and 10900/F, the price was stable as fuck for many months

10900K/F --- 500/450€
10900/F --- 395€/367€

10 Cores without a IGP and K 367€, a 3700 did cost at some times 389€

Well at least in my country you have a 30 day window to send it back if you don't like it for some reason...
Although you probably can't used the included cooler if there's one included.

So just take out the chip , test it with your own cooler , keep it or send it back.

Here we are at 14 Days, but yeah if u dont like it u can choose another one :)

You aren't just pre-ordering a CPU
You are pre-ordering the new motherboard and DDR5 as well, and maybe a new cooler(or email noctua to get a free adaptor)

That's easily >$1000 spent based on rumors and "leaks"

Oh and you must "upgrade" to Windows 11, which is a big downside to it.

CPU pre-order. What is wrong with this world. Intel is trying people to buy their CPUs only on Intel's own benchmark results which we all know are sketchy and not full.
I'd wait for reviews. Especially if new platform is introduced and RAM.
