We've already seen some leaked pictures of Lenovo's awkwardly named ThinkBook Plus Gen 3, but what they didn't convey was the specs and almost all of them are quite impressive. The main display might be the most impressive part, as it's a 17.3-inch, 120 Hz 16:10 panel with a resolution of 3072x1440, which is as far as we know, the first of its kind. Then there's the "tablet" which measures 8-inches, although it's fairly low resolution at 1280x800. It comes with a "digital pen" as Lenovo calls it and is designed for graphics works courtesy of a software plugin that allows it to work with Pantone colours.

CPU wise, we're looking at the brand new 12th gen Intel Core H-series of CPUs, although no mention of the exact SKUs was offered. There's support for up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 2 TB of storage. Sadly, graphics are limited to the Intel Iris Xe GPU built into the CPU, which means it might not be the ideal notebook for some of the types of work it was intended for.

Connectivity consists of a Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB-C port with DP and PD support, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port and a combo headset jack, most of which are located around the back of the notebook. There's of course also support for WiFi 6E as well. Lenovo supplies a 100 W USB-C charger with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 3. The 69 WHr battery is said to be good for up to eight hours of usage. Due to its rather large size and dual displays, you're looking at lugging around 2 kg's of notebook if you consider getting the ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 when it launches in May for around US$1,399.

What is that monstrosity next to the keyboard? I'd absolutely hate that. I'd rather have a keyboard that's a normal size.

A graphics tablet, so you can draw on it with a stylus. That said, it's also a touch input thingie.

Sorry 3072 x 1440 is no where near being 16:10, this is around 21:10 a woeful aspect ratio IMO for a laptop.

Looks gimmicky to me. I'd rather have a normal keyboard.

I don't think this is intended for your average consumer though, since most people don't need a graphics tablet.
I can see this being useful for a lot of people though, that actually use one for work. I can't draw for shit, so it's not for me.

I have yet to use a device better than the 13" iPad Pro for drawing. I'm not great at drawing, but it's great for that kind of thing compared to everything else I've used. I used to work with a guy that was a true artist and he made amazing things with his iPad Pro.
