What are safe temps for rx580 ?

Hello, i have heavily overclocked my rx580 and it reaches 80c max under heavy load when running heaven benchmark, is this a safe temperature ? I know the card throttles at 85c.

Well if you aint throttling then you are fine, either increase air conditioning in your room, increase fan speed, or get watrr cooling. You can always swap thermal compound and pads

80 is within the acceptable margin but a lower temp would be better.
Define "heavily overclocked".

I've overclocked similar cards and never hit those temps, what case are you using? please tell me it's not an H510.

1411/2250 is about the Max Average OC, 1430+ are for cherry chips(Nitro SE, LE).

The binning was very wide for the Polaris 20/30

1.2 volts at 1465 mhz core clock. 1125 volts 2100 mhz memory clock at 75-80 degrees celsius.

If it's the Nitro+ version, that's normal. Without a clock the card runs @77 degrees full load. If you change the pads and the paste carefully, may be drop a degree or two. Overclocked @80C sounds just about right.

It is the pulse version, i have already changed the thermal paste on the core chip with a high quality thermal compound.

80°C is still fine, definitely on the warmer side though. I used to have the Pulse version myself, I ran it at the stock 1366 @ 1.08V (I could've probably optimized this even further and had it run at a lower voltage still), the fans were hovering around the 40-45% mark and the card never exceeded 70° even under full load. If you're looking for slightly lower temps you will have to dial back your OC a bit and find the middle ground between higher-than-stock clocks but with a voltage lower than 1.2V, since that is quite a lot of juice you're throwing at the card..

Well i agree 100% with @Palindrome on that.
Always put in balance the outcome and risks so you should take the middle way.

Pulse cards were designed for Mid range users so you may need to up the fan speeds or do water cooling at some point
