besides the prices (god, still remember when the "high class of boards" was around the price the starting Z690s are now .... and feel old :D ) I somehow totally get Jagged-Alliance vibes from this one....

might be the colors and how the classified is "stamped on", but that was my first thought (( "why do they do a JA-Themed-Board now?" :D ;) ))

In Steroid's voice: "Is good!"

Is it really gamer oriented?

No purchase option for europe though. That sucks. But then again, it doesn't support any PCI-E gen5 M.2 slots. So when those new M.2's come out in summer, only Asus boards will support them. Also, this EVGA Classified board has tiny high-pitched fans fastened onto the chipset radiator. I remember how annoying those things sounded on my EVGA X299 Dark. No effing thank you.

I bet once we actually get PCIe5 SSDs, we'll get mobo that support them, too.
But, given how current drives cannot sustain PCIe4 speeds without throttling, I don't see why you'd need PCIe5. Maybe for reads, but even over PCIe4, you can fill your RAM within a couple of seconds...

What kind of coolant are they using with the chipset radiator?
$620 is too much for any mb. As much as I liked my x99 classified I still couldn't do it.

This isn't even the DARK. There's no reason for MB's to cost this much.

That depends. If you sold motherboards for a living, you'd be finding reasons left and right :D

Why not MSRP $690 then, while they're at it, to match the chipset.

Makes it easier to price the successors, too, and should align nicely with 'inflation'

Also paves the way for entry-level boards at the low, low price of $610!

There are far too many stupid people that are happy to be ripped off. That is why manufacturers are charging extortionate prices - because they know they can get away with it. If people would just boycott the manufacturers until they lowered their products to fair prices, we wouldn't be in this mess right now.
