Ugreen, a global leader in charging accessories, is announcing the release of the Nexode 100 W charger. The Nexode 100 W provides more power, more ports, and better safety due to its use of gallium nitride (GaN) integrated circuits (IC). Ugreen is launching a new series of chargers called Nexode. Nexode chargers will distinguish themselves by using GaN chips and proprietary Ugreen technology to offer dynamic flexible charging. Nexode chargers are compact and capable of supplying the exact amount of power a device needs. The GaN technology in Nexode chargers offers better heat dissipation and is more energy-efficient than silicon-based chargers. This means Ugreen is able to make Nexode chargers smaller, safer, and more energy-efficient.

Ugreen's Nexode chargers are designed to maximize a single wall outlet, no matter where consumers find themselves. The Nexode 100 W charger has four ports, three USB-C and one USB-A. With four ports, this charger can charge all of someone's devices, whether in a coffee shop, in the airport, or just in their home office. Additionally, Ugreen's firmware makes Nexode chargers even more convenient. Power-X is Ugreen's proprietary power distribution system. It is designed to communicate with your device, which allows Nexode chargers to make sure they are supplying the right amount of power. The Nexode 100 W has a recommended retail price of $79.99 on Amazon. The recommended retail price for the UK store is £79.99, and Ugreen's Nexode 100 W is available in most EU markets although pricing may vary.

This gave me a chuckle.

Ummm...yea.. :kookoo:

This was part of that EU one standard port debate (article), I think.

I havent been to an airport lately, didnt know they installed wall outlets everywhere to plug in chargers.

The Nexode 100 W has a recommended retail price of $79.99 on Amazon.
Thats a bit high considering other chargers pretty much achieve the same effectiveness, although 100w is higher than most.

It's actually quite common for modern chargers that supports multiple charging standards, nothing to do with the EU requirements, but the two devices tend to exchange handshake information to make sure the right Voltage and current is being delivered.

The lounges tend to have electrical outlets, but maybe you're not allowed into those?

yea this was discussed heavily in that other thread. This PR seems to imply that is unique to this device.

Yea but which outlets, the standard three prong or USB.a/b/c/d/e/f/g/k ones.

Will depend on the airport/coutry, but even outside premium lounges you can find a couple outlets spread around.

There are also the popular USB charging stands which historically have been known points of malware spread so wear protection

Well, it's what these companies do no? Make their products sound way better than they really are.

Most lounges I've been to, have normal power outlets for that country, so 100-240V with two or three prongs depending on where you are.
USB ports aren't that common and should really be avoided for charging some devices. I used to carry a battery bank when I travelled. Not much of that going on at the moment.

Lol. There definitely aren't many if any at all. Seriously though, If you are in dire need to charge something look for an airport café. Sometimes they have a/c outlets integrated in bench seats or tables. If that doesn't work out you could unplug one of those commercial massage chairs and plugin your a/c adapter. I've done that a couple of times.

That very much depends on the country. Much better in Asia I would say, terrible in the US and not so great in Europe, unless you can get into a lounge.
Remember a guy at LAX sitting on the floor in the middle of a corridor, by a power outlet, as it was the only one available in that part of the airport.

I can only imagine some airports in Asia would have more charging ports installed/mounted/available than power outlets. :wtf:

What is a charging port? I mean, most metro stations in Taipei have these standing tables where you can plug in your charger, or if you dare, use one of the USB-A ports.
But airports mainly have normal power sockets, although some have these "charging cabinets" where you can lock your phone into a little locker, usually for a fee.

yea I am, unless you use the port for something other than charging.
I tend to use them for data transfer and I can't say I have ever heard anyone refer to them as charging ports before.

Huh? It has allowed for way more compact chargers at higher power output, so how can it be snake oil? It does exactly what it promised.
