Radeon RX 6x50 XT Pricing Leaks Ahead of Next Week's Launch

Scarcity alone doesn't make something valuble, otherwise I can go out and buy a pink glitter pen and scrawl out a limited edition doodle along with my signature until the ink runs out and claim that has value. Look at it from the perspective of someone looking to invest into it and not one trying to cash out.

i said it depends on 3 things, and you reply it doesn't depend alone in one of those 3 things

i'm forced to agree with you, what else can i do?

Well :) I've set aside 380e for a video card - I've been trying to hold on to it, but it's been over a year since I assigned this budget for an upgrade and have yet to buy anything because of the current prices. There's no way I'm spending that money on a 6600/6650xt with it's garbage 128 bit memory bus and crippled PCI-E interface, or on nvidia's overpriced RTX 3060.

So I'll just sit on my Vega64 until it dies. And if it dies I've got a GTX 1070 as a spare. I don't see why it would die tough, I haven't gamed on it since I bought my G713QY - the RX 6700XT (witch AMD calls a 6800M) performs beautifully at 2k and I don't have any issues with heat (unlike my previous laptop). iGPUs are also getting pretty fast. I built a 5700g system last week witch is sitting under my TV right now and I was surprised at how fast the Vega 8 is.

IF the crypto dumpster fire dies down and miners start flooding the market with second hand cards, I'll consider buying a dedicated GPU for my new desktop. If not, there's always my old i7 3930k rig and my laptop.

If eth mining is dying how will they keep pumping money into the ecosystem?
Proof of share isn't really a new or unproven concept. Eths scale is the new thing, but that really should help it, not hurt it.

Considering you own a Vega 64, the 6600 XT isn't a meaningful upgrade or worth it for you anyway. And between you and me, i'd personally pick the 64 over a 6600 XT any day.

Only calling a spade a spade

Anyways I see 00 series cards coming down in price after 50 series are on the shelves.

Inspite of vega being more power hungry and being gcn based and not RDNA2 based?

All three cards should be available on the launch day, which is the 10th of May.

When will the embargo be lifted and the reviews go live? NDA lift - what time?

Yeah. At that performance level, the features like RT don't matter, and it's not like the V64 has unmanageable power consumption. I'd only get the 6600XT over a 64 personally if the 64 was much pricier or the plastic blower variant. There is AV1 decode that matters, as well, so like, it's not a general recommendation - it's my own personal bias, I was the oddball that loved Vega and AMD's HBM cards. I used to have them all :D
