Today at Star Wars Celebration, Respawn Entertainment, Electronic Arts, and Lucasfilm Games unveiled Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the next chapter of the beloved Star Wars action-adventure series chronicling the journey of Jedi Cal Kestis. Developed by the veteran team at Respawn under the leadership of game director Stig Asmussen, Star WarsJedi: Survivor will expand upon the iconic Star Wars stories, worlds, characters, and thrilling combat first experienced in the series' debut title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being built for the current generation of gaming hardware to create a deeper and more expansive Star Wars experience for players worldwide when the game launches in 2023.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire's constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series' dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force.

"Even before completing Jedi: Fallen Order, our team had a vision of how to carry the adventure for Cal, BD, and the crew into the sequel," said Stig Asmussen, game director, Respawn. "For Jedi: Survivor, we are working in lockstep with Lucasfilm Games to build on the legacy of Jedi: Fallen Order. We're leveraging advanced technology to create more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling to expand on Cal's story as he matures and survives during the dark times. We can't wait to share more about the game with the world later this year."

"Millions of Star Warsfans have been captivated by the story of Cal Kestis, and we're thrilled to be working with the world-class developers at Respawn to continue this epic tale," said Douglas Reilly, vice president, Lucasfilm Games. "We could not be more excited to reveal Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and this next chapter of Cal Kestis' journey with players around the world."

I hope greed doesn't take over this one as usual with EA, but most likely everyone at EA has already forgotten past lessons, let's see.

fast travel and a make it at least 3x longer.

You want a gigantic open world with lots of fetch quests and copy pasted shit to do? PLEASE NO.

I'm not a big fan of the souls like genre but the first game was pretty good so I'm looking forward to this.
In the first game its possible to change difficulty so even for me it was totally doable on Jedi Knight 'Master was a bit too punishing for my taste/first playthrough'.

I know it's easy to hate on EA but they were the publisher of the original game.

I'd say it was intended for gamers to "happily" ignore how it plays and stick to following the story.

Keyword publisher. As long as they remain in that box like they did last time and and not come out meddle with the dev whenever success happens or they smell profit like they do time and time again, hate wouldn't be the automatic immune reponse people have towards EA. People don't want to hate on EA but they sure go out of their way to make it hard.

So yeah, it's not that people easily hate on EA but the body's natural response in protecting itself.

Last Star Wars game I had interest in was Star Wars 1313.

Sadly, Disney came through and mucked things up and canceled it after their acquisition of Star Wars. Ever since then they restructured LucasArts (closed it down) and gave reigns to EA and they've trashed any Star Wars game they put their hands on and Disney hasn't done the movie/shows they've been part of much justice. The new movies sucked and the new shows haven't been that good. Obi-Wan is boring so far and the antagonist is very cliché, stiff and boring on the screen (much like Kylo Ren)....

The Mandalorian is okay, but the removal of Gina Carano was stupid and I thought the killing off of Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant - to my understanding he was killed, based on the events of the show) was lame.

Boba Fett has been lack luster, I can't really explain it, but it just seems dumb. Boba Fett was kind of a mysterious figure in the movies, never revealing his face and he just seemed to badassed. Watching the show he seems like how he looks, old, slow and uninteresting. I don't know, maybe I'm expecting too much.

I don't have any faith in Disney or EA in handling the Star Wars franchise.

So? EA was also the original publisher of dead space, mass effect, and battlefield.

Battlefield 2042

Mass effect andromeda (leads to ANTHEM)

Dead space 3

All sucked arse.

EA has a long track record of royally screwing game devs and properties. Bet theres gonna be some loot box tier BS in this game. It's on EA to prove otherwise, they are one of the scummiest publishers out there, right up there with ubisoft and activision.

Name one time EA hasnt meddled with a dev studio, not including its own. EA has cause studios to close time and again for being too demanding. Profits NOW, not later.

Just get a stars war mod for DS1 if that your thing. Souls games aren't fun.

Well maybe you shouldn't design games then if that's how you think it has to play out. I get it, teenagers have the attention spans of gnats so you have to dumb down the game.

So yeah, it's not that people easily hate on EA but the body's natural response in protecting itself.

It's not only that EA was the back to back champion in "Worst Company of America", it's the bad experiences with their games, over & over. I think it got to a point where it altered our genes & will be passed over to our children, like the fear from spiders & snakes. It's no surprise that EA is looking for a sale/merger, they need a rebrand to continue their scam under a differnet name:

EA is allegedly pursuing a sale and ‘has talked to Apple, Amazon and Disney’

But it's not just EA. Tripple A gaming will become even worse in the comming years, developers blood will be sucked out by corporate vampires & their empty bodies will be dumped on the graveyard when they move on to their next capitalist victims: "Because video games have outperformed many industries hurt by the pandemic, public and private investors have started to target the industry as a perceived safe bet."

The first game stutters and hitches way too damn much for me even to care about a sequel. Of course I am sure some oblivious clowns here will say they don't have to stutters but that is BS. I have tested the game on five different setups over the last couple years and every stutter happens in the same places and in the same way no matter what hardware is used. Even gsync and freesync can not fix that crap. FFS every time Digital Foundry talks about the game they mention the stutter issues on pc.

i played almost at launch, it definetly wasn't the most polished, but it's still a better game then most of the polished AAA turds that came out lately.
