With the launch of Apple Silicon for Mac computers, Apple has established itself as a great user of the Arm instruction set. Starting with M1, the company released an entirely new family of products running Apple Silicon. Today, thanks to the research of Strategy Analytics company, we have information that Apple is capturing as much as 90% of the revenue share present in the Arm PC market. The Arm PC market is a tiny subset of the entire PC market, mainly equipped with one-off Windows-on-Arm devices, Chromebook PCs, and Apple Macs. With the naturally low prices of the remaining Arm PCs, Apple Arm PCs offer a relatively high price point and a much more incredible selection of products.

On the global scale, Arm PCs now account for 9% of the total PC market share, where x86 vendors are dominating the field. "Apple's M-series family of processors set the benchmark and gave Apple a 2-3-year lead over the rest of the Arm-based PC processor vendors. Qualcomm captured just 3% revenue share in the Arm-based notebook PC processor market in 2021 and lags Apple in CPU performance," said Sravan Kundojjala, Director of Handset Component Technologies service at Strategy Analytics. This points to a particular case of Apple's better product and feeding the demand with higher-performing processors. Qualcomm's acquisition of Nuvia should yield different results in the coming years, as the new IP is yet to appear in Qualcomm SoCs.

Apple insists that they don't make PCs.

Apple insists that they don't make PCs.
They dont, the internal memo says they make "workstations for personal use".

Its way too early to consider ARM PC market share statistics. No other player but Apple has made a concerted push for this space yet. For all intents and purposes, Apple is the sole player here and just like we expect the sky to be blue, we can expect a market with only one participant to have that whole market.

So Apple has 90% of a 9% market segment. Wow!

Why not? It's not full 100 percent, and it's a market that existed (well, barely) before the M1 Macs.
Another statistical data that would be interesting would be Apple's profit share in that same ARM "PC" market segment. My guess is that it's this story repeating:

By typing ‘well barely’, I stopped reading your rebuttal.

Laptops, Desktops, whatever, it is a Personal Computer :)

who remembers these commercials? Apple def didn't want to be branded as a "PC". solidified with their "I'm a PC.....and I'm a Mac" campaign to differentiate the two.

They have 90% (revenue share) of a very small market no one really cares much about anyway, not consumers, not vendors, nobody.

I love the PC, but Microsoft with their AD made those commercials extremely accurate. At least the PC side of it, we all know a mac is anything, but the cool kid that does whatever he wants.

In revenue terms they are the single biggest "PC" maker today, pretty sure a whole host of other brands & their (loyal) users care!

That's not what i was refering about or the article. The ARM side of things. People really don't care if it's ARM or X86. The winner of a category no one cares about.

Apple has done more to push for high efficiency computing than any of the other players. Way to go Apple!

Yeah, their server farms are legendary for their efficiency

People may not understand the difference between the two, but when they can't run their favorite programs due to compatibility issues, they definitely care.

Those ads that Microsoft produced is the most cringe thing yet that exists in the world.. it's terrible. They only made fun of themselves really. I don't know who's idea that was from Microsoft... apparently they lack management meetings to discuss what is a good idea and what is a bad idea.
