MSI X670 Motherboards Listed For Sale From 315 USD

The first X670 motherboards from MSI have recently been listed for pre-order on several Italian sites before their official announcement. The two motherboards listed are the MSI PRO X670-P WIFI and the MPG X670E Carbon Wi-Fi with all the sites featuring the same product details and imagery but with varying pricing. The motherboards both include Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5 GbE LAN networking along with PCIe 5.0 storage while only the X670E Carbon will support PCIe 5.0 graphics cards. The X670E Carbon also includes upgraded power delivery circuitry with an 18+2 phase 90 A design versus 14+2 80 A on the PRO X670-P.

The three Italian retailers currently offering the boards for pre-order include the 22% Italian VAT in the price which we have deducted in the following prices. The MSI PRO X670-P WIFI is listed for between 307 EUR (315 USD) and 349 EUR (360 USD) while the MPG X670E Carbon Wi-Fi is available for 461 EUR (475 USD) and 525 EUR (540 USD). These prices would represent a significant increase from their equivalent X570 counterparts with even more expensive boards such as the MEG Ace and Godlike also expected to be released.

The Intel equivalent model to the X670-P WIFI was MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR5 which, once upon a time had been priced at $300 at some retailer(s), according to pcpartpicker.
Nothing is confirmed with a sample size of one, and we all know that eu retailers often do their MSRP with USD to Euro conversion 1:1 .
But I won't be surprised if the X670 boards are way higher priced than the x570s
it is all new socket + DDR5 + PCIE 5 graphics & ssd slots after all.

Admittedly those prices don't take the recent few months of inflation into account, but I believe Gigabyte will have a sub US$300 X670 board, with similar features to the Pro X670-P, i.e. this.

why is it that on modern motherboards we still dont have 90 degrees turned 24 pin connectors as standard?

I thought they where supposed to be less expensive this time round due to using the same chipset it doesn't bode well for my favourite board the Aorus Master guess I'll have to see how much more it costs when released, I'm happy to skip and hold if they are gouging and definitely won't be paying early adapter tax regardless.

Why even bother with this shit when you can get MSI B550-A PRO for 110€? Add PCIE to USB 3.2 Gen 2 expansion card (30€) and Sound Blaster AE5 (115€) and you get more feature rich MB (besides PCIE5 and DDDR5) for less. Plus what's with these prices anyway? You can get MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4 WiFi for 199€ atm? 50% price increase hike and offer nothing better?

Why do new motherboards don't have angled USB C front headers too? Cables for those are super stiff and stick out like sore thumb. At least add some angles adapters to the box.

Regular vertical connectors are probably cheaper because higher volumes and they have bins full of the stuff ready to go.

imagine paying $475 for a mobo for the "screwless" M.2 slots when ASUS has been doing for their ROG STRIX mobos a few years ago and their offering with such feature costs way less.
