LINE Games Corporation announced today that it will participate online in Europe's biggest game exhibition Gamescom 2022 to showcase its upcoming PC title Quantum Knights. On August 24, LINE Games will present Quantum Knights on the official website of Gamescom 2022 with a new gameplay trailer. Currently in development by Space Dive Games, Quantum Knights is an online third-person looter shooter for PC. Set in a medieval fantasy open world where magic and firearms coexist, Quantum Knights offers stylish action based on shooter game's dynamic combat and movement mechanisms.

Each firearm featured in Quantum Knights has its own unique design and can be enhanced by carving in magic circles, which allows for the player to tailor the character's specialty and combat style accordingly. LINE Games plans on releasing Quantum Knights in 2023, and has opened a dedicated teaser site and social media channel where intrigued players can take a first look at the game.

Looking at the characters gave me a Hellgate: London flashback.

Its not like there are not enough of these style games. This trailer reminds me of DragonAge:Origins. The trailer does not show, and something I cannot stand from trailers, is game play. Trailers like this are make for hype no matter how shitty or good the game plays, I can not get behind a game without seeing actual game play and a shot of the UI. Plus, there it does not define its online presence, is it MMO style or just co-op. Also, there is no mention of PvE or PvP, this being online, can assume both, but to what degree?

What game does this trailer remind you of? (everyone)

im going to assume this game is going to be ridden with "micro"transactions to milk people for all they are worth asap.

Most game studios are harassed, more like flooded with concerned diatribes, long before the Beta phase about that. I'd like to assume not at launch, but maybe at a later date. The bigger question I have, assuming MTX is in at launch, is it going be a Pay2Win model or not. If your assumtion is correct, the chance that it will be P2W is much higher, but that would likely mean there is PvP in the game too. Two things that keep me away from online games.

It's normal for a trailer not to show game play when the game is in early development stages - there is no game play to show. Not showing game play when the release is supposedly one year away, that's a red flag.

Well, it's from Line...

Well, that's what they will show at Gamescon.

A screenshot of the UI is almost a must at this point close to release.

I'd bet more they will show a longer version of this trailer, without game play or screenshots. TBH its hard to say at this point unless they actually say, not imply, they will be showing game play

I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt. It could just be their marketing strategy.
