BizLink, a global leader in interconnect solutions, is proud to announce the release of the world's first VESA certified DP80 Enhanced full-size DP cable after the launch of DP80 mDP cable in March 2022. DP80 as the highest standard for cable configuration defines a new standard for display connectivity with emphasis on higher link rate. Certified with the latest version of DP technology, BizLink's DP80 Enhanced full-size DP cable provides a maximum throughput data rate up to 80 Gbps, covering new data rates per lane: UHBR10 (10 Gbps), UHBR13.5 (13.5 Gbps), and UHBR20 (20 Gbps).

In an era consisting of trends such as remote work and extended reality, to deal with the growing needs for high-performance displays and "stay connected" at the most elevated implementation levels becomes crucial. Satisfying user experience and reliable connectivity requires higher data rate conversion. The DP80-marked cable supports UHBR20 at their highest transfer rate, enabling ultimate connections of advanced and latest display applications and systems. With a satisfactory data rate value up to 80 Gbps, the DP80 standard unleashes new capabilities for bringing superior connection to achieve a given level of video quality as image capture and display technology advance.

Continuous improvement has been made by BizLink's R&D team to enhance the data rate and bandwidth of Enhanced full-size DP cable. The higher transfer rate requires optimal signal integrity with higher signal speed and oscilloscope bandwidth. All together with superior cable design assures high mechanical and electrical performance to meet the specific needs of display applications. The efforts have been rewarded this August with the release of DP80 Enhanced full-size DP cable. Supporting higher bandwidth capabilities and being backward compatible with other DisplayPort devices, DP80 Enhanced full-size DP cable ensures the higher resolution quality to enhance the video streaming experience.

BizLink has worked with VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) on developing the next-generation Enhanced full-size DP/mDP cables and connectors to break the legacy bandwidth limitation. As a premier supplier of high-speed interconnect solutions for client peripherals, BizLink offers leading-edge DP80 Enhanced full-size DP cables, DP80 Enhanced mDP cables and connectors, and other latest DP connectivity applications.

Hummm.. based on that pic, it sure doesn't look very enhanced to me.... but I'm guessin the price will be, hehehe :)

obviously the improvements are on the inside...

Hmm look at the lenght ;)
Length is going to be an issue for all high-speed cables, until we switch to fiber optics across the board.

HDMI 2.1, which is much slower than this, already can't go much farther than 4.5m (if you are lucky).

And TB3 or 20Gbps USB can't exceed ~2m without active cabling, with most passive cables topping out around 1m. I for one am looking forward to a future in which my cables have more compute power than the average early 2010s smartphone - and cost the same too!

It's not just the lenght! You need to take into account the girth and the yaw angle! Jeez people, educate yourselves!

Awww man, displayports getting as weird as USB3

Yep. Soon I expect them to run fiber optics for data and copper for power delivery. Then we'll have enough bandwidth for the future but we'd also need FW upgrades for the OE circuity, and possibly active cooling. :)

Imagine, basically a water hose with some FO and other cables in it. What's the worst that could happen? Your elderly parents mistaking your flashy ARGB FO WC monitor cable for the garden hose? Or that?

I read somewhere that USB-C has 4 lanes with 20Gbps lane bandwidth. And it has alt modes, so it can also accept DP 2.0 standard and have 80Gbps bandwidth from GPU to TV or monitor for example. That's why Sony is using it for PSVR2. Idk is there even any need for DP and HDMI cables/connectors. Would be great if everything had just 1 type of cable/connector.

It surely can, You just need an optical cable. I sent out full 4K 120Hz signal from one room to another with a 10m optical HDMI 2.1.

Same with USB, however those are expensive as hell...

Well yeah but we are talking passive.
