Blizzard Death Knight Interview

Blizzard has revealed details of the first Hero class in World of Warcraft, the Death Knight. They've emerged in an official chit chat with designers working on WOW's second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, which will introduce the new class. The Death Knight is a tank hybrid created to offer an alternative to the Warrior when building a group. Blizzard felt this role was essential in almost every scenario, so an extra class here was needed. Specifically, Death Knights will focus more on attack than defence - but come equipped with taunting abilities so that they can maintain the attention of monsters trying to kill the rest of the group. Death Knights will also rely on a new rune system resource to power their attacks and spells, one separate to the existing mana, energy, and rage bars. But details on how exactly this will work are yet to be announced. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King was announced at the Leipzig Games Convention earlier in the year. It will up the level cap to 80, add a new Northrend continent, introduce the Inscription profession, use siege warfare to tear down buildings, give you more character customisation options, plus oodles of new dungeons, quests and items. Oh Oh, nice addition. I had heard some of my friends talking about this game for some time (the expansion) and just the added class makes me want to rush out and get this game and its aforementioned sibling.

I think it's dumb. There's already two "hybrid tank" classes in WoW (Paladins and Druids), and they do just fine.

Blizzard is so lazy when it comes to this game, JUST ADD A NEW CLASS. Stop adding these stupid additions to the game. A "hero" class is such a stupid idea, sure it will be balanced, sure I will reactivate my account just to play it, but bring something more!!!

LoL, I thought Paladins equalled dueling death by boredom? I'd know.
Having played with a tank warrior, feral tank druid, and a protection paladin, I'd have to say the paladin isn't quite as good.

I'm not sure how you took what I said but I was saying that dueling I kill my opponents through boredom. As it takes 10minutes for me to dps them down to death.

I know, I'm the healer for our arena team and one of the two kara healers for our guild (we've just started kara). I also support the prot warrior and feral druid I mentioned along with a lock, rogue, and fury warrior. My friends here in town keep me busy. I'm just waiting for the death knight. I think that will probably be my dmg character.

{edit}I was Ret till after 70 and we started playing together a lot{/edit}

I see, I'm Ret right now but i got 2 more lvls till 70 and don't want to re-spec but feel like I will have to so that i can run good instances.

Yup, Ret is for PVP.

I would recommend respecing to Holy for high end instances.

I ran Gruul's Lair a few hours ago as Ret
But AOE farming as Prot with your mage / warlock friend is fun (Edit: Warriors. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME )
Holy is just absolute boredom, I will rather roll a priest.

Just need to wait for Blizz to suck it up and fix Ret in 2.3.
