MSI Shares Official Pricing for its X670 and X670E Motherboards in Livestream

I could see some further "reduction" for their mATX B650/B650E boards, like they did with B550 Mortar. 2020 and it only had 5 USB, and now for 2022 release I bet MSI only gave 2 USB ports.

Entry point of £395 (assuming parity) is horrendous.
Parity is out of the window.

/me points at this week's sterling nosedive after the "mini-budget" last Friday.

X570 Carbon Wifi = 250 eur

X670E Carbon Wifi = 600 eur

Needless to say more .....

€250 wasn't the launch price though, right?

Mobo makers have been progressing fast in their goal of redefining mindshare around motherboards. Long gone are the times when they were the balanced backbone of the system where you could get your basic needs met for $100, or enjoy overclocking with all the bells and whistles at $350.

Now you are supposed to pay for your motherboard as much or more as what you can pay for your CPU and GPU, no more value for money, pay premium, or go home. Want a $1600 4090? You better pair that with a $1500 mobo and a $700 CPU, otherwise you will be a loser!

I seriously despise how out of touch the PC industry is. They have been spoiled by the Covid pandemic, but now the world is on the brink of recession and I dare to say that the industry needs a good reality check and massive dip in sales in order to get its shit together.

The prices are in: the X670E Godlike is $A2499, the X670E Ace is $A1399, but already sold out. The cheapest motherboard is $A500, but it looks very well built. And the 7900X is $A50 more expensive than the 12900K.

Entry point of £395 (assuming parity) is horrendous. It's a shame the DIY pc industry has gone down this route. Genuinely thinking when I need to finally upgrade, I'll go console instead.
Same here. I'd rather give 500 bucks for PS5 or Series X and get literally a full system minus monitor or TV to plug it in.

with early listings in Europe showing it at €2399
OR or, I could just get a full-spec Steam Deck and save a ton of money, or two fully accessorized Playstation/Xbox consoles. Got it.

Well ... it actually was ... two of the oldest reviews i can find dating from July 2019 from OC3D and Anandtech claim 250 pounds and 260 dollars respectively .

I mean even you take 300 eur as starting point it doesn't paint any better image about X670 !

Sure, but X570 boards weren't dirt cheap at launch.
Even so, I fully agree that the pricing is absurd.
