Slightly misleading name there. S1000W, I was like a thousand watts?! Sweet!

I have the Edifier R1700BT which I paid around 100 USD and it is amazing for the price (have had AudiEngines, massive tower speakers, etc. so I have some baseline for comparison)

but if spending 450 USD... I'd probably look for a more prestigious brand

I bought the top of the line S3000 six months ago and they're way above much more prestigious brands I used to sell on an audio store some years ago. The remote controller is underwhelming, but the sound you get from them is incredibly good. Perfectly defined highs, balanced mediums, punchy but controlled bass... They're worth the 800€ asking price, but if you're patient you can get them for as low as 600€ (it took me 3 months of waiting, though).

I got myself S2000 MkIII in May when my 40 year old speakers died. Cost me around $288. They rock, I'm running them at 20% volume in windows and 80% on the actual speaker. Anything louder...

Remote for my set is identical to this one. It feels a bit light/cheap, but all it needs to do is to turn on the speakers and maybe change source once a while. My set comes with "Classic" mode set by default which sounds the best, so I don't need to use that.

I have a pair of S3000 Pro's and they are surprisingly good for low(-ish) priced speakers. I got them during a one-day Amazon Prime sale in 2019 for $479. Pretty good for Chinese powered monitors.
