In an interview with Game Informer, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli stated that Crysis just might make it to consoles after all. Depending on a multitude of factors, including sales, ratings, reception, and criticism, Crytek will port a version of Crysis for an unspecified number of consoles. However, don't get too excited, console fans...
(People) are asking me if it's possible. Of course. You can get Crysis even on the Nintendo DS. But not that Crysis -- you cannot get Crysis as it is on PC on any console. What you would have to do is compromise the design and the level design. In order to make Crysis (playable on a console,) you would have to make a derivative Crysis and optimize it for the Xbox 360 and PS3. In fact, if we do it, we'll optimize it for each platform."

You should have qouted the part about the consoles not having enough memory to do it well:)

The gameplay isn't suited for thumbsticks anyways. Too much precision required in the huge environments.

FarCry was really fun on the Xbox with big environments and thumbsticks... Halo 1/2 had relatively large environments and they were a blast even with thumbsticks.

Don't get me wrong, I agree Crysis would probably be best on PC, but I disagree with your reasons.

Halo and the blasphemy that were the console versions of Far Cry dont touch the scale of Crysis.

WTF do you mean 'probably'!?!? An 8800 or 2900 mixed with a $200 conroe is more much, MUCH more powerful than a 360 or PS3 could ever dream. As a Dev-guy, you should know this.

Yea, let's share with the consoles. They'll make more sell, of course only if the game is hot.

Its a guarantee that its coming then. I expect crysis to pull in 1/3 of the money the Halo3 did, until it hits consoles <G>

If a game dev wants to, s/he can incorporate keyboard and mouse support to consoles, just like UT3 has kb/m for the ps3.

Once kb/mouse support is coded into more console games, I'll start taking them more seriously. For now, the only FPS I have for my consoles are Halo 3 and GoW, and that's only because they're ONLY on the consoles (for now at least).

I'll stick with Crysis on PC, thank you.

Crysis for PC FTW, but not a bad idea to put it on consoles.

I agree.

However, I think the console verison will receive some bad press due to it being a dulled down verison of the PC verison.

I hope it only becomes PC exclusive.

Consoles are like fast food while the PC is the 5 star restaurant.

Roll on Crysis!:D

VERY well spoken!

You only say that because you have those fancy 8800-cards. :shadedshu
:p

Anyhow, I don't really care as I'll never have the kind of money to spend on a Xbox360/PS3. Well, I might be able to buy a console some day, but then I need a flat TV to go with that HD, and that's way to expensive for me.
