You have issues with a noisy neighbor in Switzerland?
yep ... indeed, although i am the only permanent resident in that building, ... peoples from other Cantons, are awfully noisy when they are on holidays ... almost 9years i endure that every time there is school/public holidays, national day and week ends :D

2020 was a nightmare, because of that, with the lockdowns ... 5 month of it and the one from above my apartment where here each time, despite the federal recommendation to stay at home/in their canton.

kids running hitting the heel as hard as they can all day long from 7am to 10pm, moving furnitures without precautions every 5-10 minutes ... and so on so on ... o_O

I've experienced similar things almost everywhere across the world but I managed to deal with it in even the most fooked up countries where I've been. That's why I'm so curious how it is in the land of the Swiss cheese. PM me for details.

Not trying to defend anyone here but this thing is all over the news. It's hard to imagine TPU as an outlet that's solely advertising suicide.

I wonder if it will ever make it to market... All kidding aside, who thinks of killing someone with a VR headset? Some serious psychologic issues going on there.

My first thought was "Sword Art Online". Then I read the paragraph about it - common @btarunr, did you actually read the article? It even clearly notes about SAO franchise, not that it is an actual game right now with a "lethality setting".
Or was this some kind of sattire?

Perhaps you should read the article as well. Seems you missed a few important details that Btarunr didn't.

Honestly, too many people treat the Internet as if it is parallel to reality. Think "people who boast about their crimes in social media and are dumbfounded when authorities use what they posted as a evidence". I'm all for real consequences for virtual actions.
Besides, the overpopulation is out of control, it's not like human life is precious. If one life goes out, well, there's a lot more where that came from.

Had to Google this guy. Can't unsee what i saw.

Yeah, they make a good pair. That's what the monkey said when he looked at his nuts.
Imo, this device is no different than the shit suicide bombers concoct: kill a bunch of people with it, then it also eventually kills you. If some people want 100% realistic life & death gaming, go fight in a war. There's always one going on somewhere on the planet. Call of Death: Suicide Ops.
Needless to say, I don't foresee this developing into anything more than a prototype for showing off. Its too bad he didn't use a few 10's of grams of lead or copper acetylide for the explosive as this would solve the problem and doesn't need any input from the game to detonate since the slightest vibration or shock can set it off.

Diabolical, man.

You seem to have missed important parts of this discussion. No one is actually building it, though it seems to have been a real proposal.
I’m sorry to pick on you but you actually missed the point. The user you quoted is fully aware that the product isn’t going to be distributed — they said as much in their post that you quoted. Their concern was suicidal ideation, which you don’t address at all.

Uhhh maybe you should? Btarunr incorrectly thought SAO was the game — it’s not. It’s an anime that inspired the device. The difference is huge — since no game supports it it can’t be used. Btarunr wrote that their is already support for the device in aforementioned game.

If you’re going to correct people it a) helps to be nice about it and b) is important to actually get your facts straight.

Yeah, he clearly had a bad moment there.

Just look how much talk about this. Best marketing for a VR headset they could ever do.

No, I didn't.
The user you quoted is fully aware that the product isn’t going to be distributed — they said as much in their post that you quoted.
Hmm..
Their concern was suicidal ideation, which you don’t address at all.
True, I didn't. It's not the point.

Yeah, that's you missing the point.

More missing of the point.
Btarunr wrote that their is already support for the device in aforementioned game.
And again.
If you’re going to correct people it a) helps to be nice about it and
Aww, that's adorable. I WAS being nice.
and b) is important to actually get your facts straight.
But what is more important is to understand context, which you seem to have missed. That's not my issue.

People, you all do realize this was a deliberate and blatant joke article, right? Right? @btarunr was poking fun at a stupidly crazy device idea. How have you all missed that nugget of thought? Seriously people, lighten up and grow a sense of humor.

EDIT:
For the record, he's not the only one poking fun at it.
So yeah, context is important.

honestly feeling bad for you rn :(

And if you die in the Matrix?
The body cannot live without the mind.

Can suicide booths be far behind?

Is this what makes news today?
