A January 5, 2023 release date is being mooted by retailers for NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, which is widely expected to be a re-branding of what would have been the RTX 4080 12 GB. Italian retailer Drako started a countdown for an ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti O12G custom-design graphics card, which winds down to January 5, and aligns with the rumored January 3 announcement of the card. It is also expected that reviews of the RTX 4070 Ti will be allowed to go live on January 4.

The GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB was supposed to max out the 4 nm AD104 silicon, featuring 7,680 CUDA cores across 60 SM (streaming multiprocessors), 60 RT cores, 240 Tensor cores, 240 TMUs, and 80 ROPs. The GPU features a 192-bit wide GDDR6X memory interface, to which NVIDIA is giving 21 Gbps-rated memory, yielding 504 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Its most interesting aspect is its power configuration, with a typical board power of 285 W, which makes it technically possible for board partners to use two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, unless they've been asked nicely to implement the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector.

kinda interested to see its performance, i think it will be around 3080ti/3090
but will nvidia go through with its original $999 msrp? or price down to $899
but even at $899 is pricey

4070 Ti = 800 if we're lucky
4070 = 700 (if we're lucky)
4060 = 500-600
4050 = 300-400
price drops are REQUIRED. nvidia will not be selling this card for 1000

Will a 4080 Super or 4080 Ti or 4090 Ti be possible? Not that it matters much to me at these prices. Are the days of the super marque of videocards over?

Dead on arrival, the 4080 is more like a 4070, this will be like a 4050ti. Lovelace is even worse than Turing due to the stupid pricing.
4080 should be at most 800€, 4090 1200€ real price.

Do you mean the rebranded 4080 12GB? Is it now a 4070Ti? This card should have been a 4060Ti at best. :roll:

Where is the clown/world emojis on this site? :roll:

i would not be surprised if they release it for 1k.

Nope... Nvidia priced too highly? AMD, take my money!

At that prices, they can hodl on all the cards, stockpile them in warehouses and wait for another home mining crypto boom. Because gamers just ain't buying it.

I wonder if there is any truth in these posts:

"According to boardchannels, RTX 4080 will be adjusted price in mid-Dec.

However, the source emphasized price cut isn't afraid of RDNA3, but from its own considerations. Price is appropriately reduced to improve price-perf ratio and stimulate sales."

Emm, some time ago i saw comparison (leaks or based on spec and then compared to 4090) that 4070 was far behind from 3080 ti. Doubt that 4070 ti will beat 3080 ti...

My thoughts exactly. What would be the right price for this, so we can hope for a 4060 that's not over $400?

This whole lineup is starting to smell like Pentium4: expensive, TDP be damned :(

All the stores with 3070-3080-3090 inventory still left won't be happy.

Nvidia: Lovely G4M3R's out there, save your Christmas dollarinos & Ctrl+F5 on your shopping site to secure your preorder of our 4080(12GB) 4070ti. Because demand is high, stock is limited & it will be gone in no time. Btw. don't look at rasterization performance, look at the BIG green DLSS3 bar! It's dam huge! It also got R4YTR4C1NG, which will blow your mind! (well, in a hand full of games where it actually makes a dent)

Gamers: 999$ 899$, 3080ti performance, smoked by the 7900X & XTX. Depressing.

Pretty sure that's the plan since the mining boom where they could charge whatever they wanted & still got it sold.

Release at stupid high prices, wait for falling demand, lower a little bit, wait for falling demand, rinse & repeat. :twitch: Heck, even Sony is doing the same since 2 years with their PS5.

Yea, the fake 4080 can't barely touch the 3080ti. :laugh: The AMD 7900XTX and even the 7900XT will wipe the floor with it, and at lower prices.

the AIB's with this cards already ready (and the rebadgeing asshle and cost) for some time would also not be happy with any delays

Rebadging the 4080 12GB as 4070ti cost $ so expect the same price as before and say thanks it's not higher.
Paper and sticker cost a lot nowadays...

i'm actually curious to see what they did, new box or just stickers everywhere :D

The sad thing is, rebadge or no, people will just buy Nvidia and nothing else. Sure their new stuff isn't selling as well as their now 2 year old cards but Nvidia are assured people will eventually come around. They'll price the 4070Ti the same as the 12 GB 4080 (unreleased).

Apparently it's mostly gone. Quite unexpectedly, since we had articles about how Nvidia miscalculated and ordered way too many chips before crypto collapsed.

NVIDIA RTX 30 ‘Ampere’ GPU Supply Evaporates From The Market As Second Hand Prices Increase By Up To 200%

And it's not just US, Geizhals.eu also shows less stock and more expensive cards, and local second hand market is also mostly out of Ampere cards - and the ones thay are available are more expensive than new ones from the shops.

That actually says more of AMD then Nvidia, they burned so many customers that now even with good products at best prices people still prefer Nvidia. I know i'm one of them.

Looking at how badly the 4080 is selling, I wouldn't be so sure. People are willing to swallow a lot of crap from the jolly green giant, but there's always a limit (especially in the middle of an economic recession).

It's the "4080 12GB" 4060 re-released as not the 4070 though the 4070ti. I love it when the bad guys just shoot themselves in the foot.

And that's a shocker when you realize it's still the same product and the number of the box doesn't actually dictate price.

As for existing stock, stores and AIBs have been clearing Ampere stock since the past summer. If they still have stock, that's on them at this point.

As for existing stock, stores and AIBs have been clearing Ampere stock since the past summer. If they still have stock, that's on them at this point.

But that's the thing - at least in EU there was no "clearing of Ampere stock". After the fall of crypto in April 2022 the very high prices in shops persisted for a very long time. We have read about "plummeting prices" in tech sites, but they hardly materialized. For instance RTX 3080 10GB with MSRP of $699 or about 840 EUR in Germany was available for about that price only after RTX 4090 was launched. And when the RTX 4080 launched, prices of 3080 were slowly beginning to rise. So there was no "clearing" - I doubt that buyers jumped on an extremely inviting price of MSRP two years after the launch? And now they are mostly gone? Something's fishy, and it looks like dissapearing GTX 1080 and 1080 Ti back in 2020 when Nvidia had problem selling RTX 2080.
