The galaxy is more dangerous than ever as the next chapter in Cal Kestis' journey begins. Today at The Game Awards, Respawn Entertainment, Electronic Arts, and Lucasfilm Games revealed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 17, 2023. During the annual awards show, a first look at gameplay was premiered in a new Official Reveal trailer showcasing Cal Kestis (Cameron Monaghan) as a stronger and more experienced Jedi Knight while setting up the threats that await him. The veteran team at Respawn Entertainment is developing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for the latest generation of gaming hardware to deliver action-packed Jedi combat with the deepest exploration and cinematic gameplay in the series.

"Star Wars Jedi: Survivor evolves the gameplay, story, and exploration from Fallen Order in every way," said Stig Asmussen, game director, Respawn. "Responsive and powerful combat makes players feel like a true Jedi Knight, with new lightsaber skills and Force abilities that add additional layers of strategy to each enemy encounter, and worlds that are filled with environmental challenges that must be overcome to unveil the mysteries within."

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, as Cal continues to grow as a Jedi and evade the Empire's constant pursuit. With trusty companion BD-1 by his side, he joins forces with new and old allies to aid him on his quest, including the mercenary Bode Akuna (Noshir Dalal) and former crew member Cere Junda (Debra Wilson). With new traversal options such as an ascension cable to reach new heights and the ability to tame and ride creatures, Cal has many ways to navigate the perils he will face as he explores both familiar and new worlds across the galaxy.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also introduces numerous combat stances to enhance gameplay, including Dual Lightsabers for lightning fast gameplay and a new Crossguard stance, that brings a measured, but hard-hitting combat option to help Cal defeat threats standing in his way - from Stormtroopers and Imperial Sentry Droids to powerful beings shrouded in mystery.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches in retail and digital storefronts on March 17 for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store for $69.99. Pre-order Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to receive exclusive cosmetic items to outfit Cal with Obi-Wan Kenobi inspired "Jedi Survival" Cosmetic Pack. Players can also pre-order the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Deluxe Edition which unlocks exclusive cosmetic items inspired by Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and R2-D2.

Fallen Order is one of the reasons that I am again enjoying Star Wars Games.

Did you enjoy the forced 30fps game play if you wanted things stutter-free?

in addition to this game-breaking bug, i found the game annoying wiith to large a jump between re-spawns, and way too much backtracking

I have no idea what you are talking about. My 6800XT gives me over 100 FPS at all time and the Game does support Freesync so no tearing or stuttering for me.

What? Nah incorrect. Played 75 fps freesync on rtx3060, not a hitch. Never had that game breaking bug as you said.

69.99 seems to be inevitable going forward. Well, 59.99 lived for like 20 years, so thats understandable, if dislikable.
I just hope this game is as good as the first part.

It seems to be inflation related and the same appears to apply to new console games as well.
Then again, at least PC games tend to get discounted fairly quickly.

Finished the game with my previous 1600x/GTX 1070 system and the stutters were minimal on my end, mainly when it loaded in a new area but not during actual gameplay/combat so I didn't care much.

I'm not a big fan of souls like games but the game was doable/enjoyable even for me on Jedi Knight difficulty. '~normal diff'
Definitely interested in this game and gonna keep an eye on it.

They should work on kotor3, they probably don't have the skills to do that... so I'd be happy with a remake of the franchise.

Yeah, inflation has raged far ahead. There has been a lot of heated discussions about this, but it really was silly to expect 59.99 forever.

One could always use Green Man Gaming, Fanatical or Humble to get a discount on that price. I have not paid full launch price for a Game since Just Cause 4.

Personally I did not care for the first, just generic and highly lacking in extras that Star Wars games tend to do so well, mods made up for some of it but...it should not be that way.

Certainly could not hold a candle to Force Unleashed

I still haven't played or even downloaded the copy of Fallen Order I snagged for free via Amazon Prime

I don't know if my 1660 Super would be able to handle it on high detail/144hz refresh. But I'm ordering a new GPU soon (6650XT or 6700/XT, haven't decided yet) (and maybe a new M.2 SSD) so I might actually start playing it after that.

Not really sure what you mean, I've been able to play the game at 90-120fps smooth as butter. The only stutters in this game and streaming related when you transition across level sections and it loads new assets, and even those drops aren't bad on a decent system.

Star Wars Jedi is developed by Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall, Apex Legends), founded by the once leaders of Infinity Ward (Call of Duty). KOTOR were developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the kings of RPGs. Don't see why one should have the same capabilities like the others...

It's like wanting Blizzard to develop the next title of Need for Speed... :kookoo:

that is only insane because it would imply you want that piece of shit company Activision/Blizzard to make anything at all instead of dying off along with a bunch of bastards that work there

It's good that it looks like they focus on "skins" and actions instead of story,

Star Wars stories, especially anything relatively related to the force, would be hard to be satisfy all audience.
The last one that was regarded relatively good was rogue one, even Mando had to stay away from the main story path (the force and the skywalker family) due to how comprehensive the settings already were.
Being a Star Wars game had some much limitation that I personally doubt anyone can tell good story and follow the original Star Wars ideology properly (especially EA)
the story of Fallen Order is not bad, but definitely not up to Mando level or even Bobba Fett
IMO, it's just better not too try hard on the story side, this would leave more room for audience (players) to imagine and fill out by ourselves.
There are thousands of Hamlets on thousands stages.

For me, Fallen Order is more of a RPG game that allows me to wield the light saber,
Having new light saber customerization and action moves during combat are the reasons I'm interested in the Survior.
