EK, the leading manufacturer of premium water-cooling gear, is launching the EK-Quantum Reflection² Torrent DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB - Plexi, a fully integrated water-cooling reservoir, coolant routing, and pump solution made to fit the popular Fractal Design Torrent case. This "distro plate" is specifically designed to provide an advanced water-cooling solution with a market-leading DDC 4.2 pump for users who are building custom loop liquid cooling solutions inside the Torrent chassis. This Reflection² distribution plate is EK-Matrix7 compatible.

The distro plate is designed to simplify the process for beginner-level PC builders entering the hard-tubing world of custom loop liquid cooling and to bring the slim-lined EK Quantum aesthetics to an already elegant case. By using EK-Quantum products that are compatible with the EK-Matrix7 standard, users can make an entire hard-tubing loop without any tube-bending tasks.

The EK-Quantum Reflection² Torrent DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB - Plexi offers an all-in-one solution that includes a DDC 4.2 pump, reservoir, simple mounting mechanism, and multiple industry-standard G1/4" threaded inlets and outlets. The placement of these inlets and outlets is perfectly aligned to match other components that are typically water-cooled, allowing minimum effort when routing the tubes. The distro plate can support up to one CPU water block, GPU block, and two radiators.

The radiator compatibility is as follows:
  • Front: Up to EK-Quantum Surface X360
  • Bottom: Up to EK-Quantum Surface P240
Engineered to be mounted next to the motherboard, the EK-Quantum Reflection² Torrent DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB - Plexi fits elegantly within the supported Fractal Design Torrent case. The built-in addressable D-RGB LED strip runs down the unit's entire length, while the anodized black aluminum cover hides the unwanted LED hotspots. The installed addressable D-RGB LED strip connects to the motherboard 5V D-RGB (A-RGB) header via an industry-standard connector. It is compatible with all major motherboard vendor software for a coordinated lighting effect.

This distribution plate comes with a genuine PWM-controlled DDC 4.2 pump that is both powerful and silent. Being a part of the EK Quantum Line, this premium product has enough power to give excellent performance with multiple blocks and radiators. The reservoir is made of CNC-machined cast acrylic material for a glass-like appearance and improved rigidity.

Availability and Pricing
The EK-Quantum Reflection² Torrent DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB - Plexi distribution plate is available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and partner reseller network. This product is expected to ship out in early January 2023. The table below shows the manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP), VAT included.

EK-Quantum Reflection² Torrent DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB - Plexi 415.90€

Pretty much. However, never underestimate liquid cooling enthusiasts and their ability to spend money on pointless crap because there will be people that will buy this.

Honestly, I myself have got a Torrent with a custom loop (dual 180mm rad in the front + triple 120mm rad in the bottom) and I see no point in this. It removes the ability to use 180mm fans which is the whole point of the Torrent, and the included 180mm fans is close to half of the price of the case.

I am not against Distro plates but how could a piece of engineered plastic be more expensive than a 5800X3D? This is absolutely insane as a GPU waterblock has more engineering and less materials than a block. Having to choose between this and fans is also stupid.

Is this true? Can’t find any info on the product page and wonder if it’s just because they don’t make 180mm radiators. Not that I’m in the market, just clarifying.

Just did a new custom watercooling setup and considered the torrent as case (went with define 7), First when I saw this post I was like 'Awww damn' and then I saw the price and I was like 'Retract Awww damn'

I was referring to EK. Maybe they don’t mention 180mm rads in the PR/product page because they don’t make them.
