NVIDIA's mid-range, high-volume graphics card based on the GeForce "Ada" graphics architecture, the GeForce RTX 4060, a 60-class product, could feature specs that make it possible for NVIDIA to carve it out either with a maxed out 5 nm AD107 silicon, or a heavily cut-down AD106. Kopite7kimi, a reliable source with NVIDIA leaks, says that the RTX 4060 has specs which align with the full-spec AD107, with 3,072 CUDA cores across 24 streaming multiprocessors (SM), 96 Tensor cores, 96 TMUs, an unknown ROP count, and 8 GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory. The memory bus width is hard to predict with this generation. The GPU's on-die L2 cache is 24 MB in size. The card has a typical graphics power (TGP) of 115 W, making it possible to build cards with just one 6-pin PCIe power connector.

That 115W sounds nice, too bad it'll probably cost something like €800 (as in $400 MSRP + scalper tax + EU Tax).

I bet Nvidia will enforce board makers to use the 12vhpwr even on these sub 200W cards

Man, the new generations of GPUs are truly a slap in the face on value. I upgraded this year but before I ran a RX 480 for 5 years (on the same old PC too) and that thing was a beast for $200.

This feels like a X050 tier which will probably cost $400 or some bullshit like that.

Wishful thinking would make me hope this is a $200 card. Hope.
 
I'm seeing a lot of hoo ha about the amount of Cuda cores it has

RTX 4090 - 16384
RTX 4060 - 3072 ~ 19% of RTX 4090

But bear in mind that a 4070Ti has only ~47% of the Cuda cores that a 4090 has, but a 4090 is ~60% faster (not ~106% faster as the core deficit alone might suggest), and that's at 4k where the 4070Ti loses steam, at lower resolutions it performs even better relative to that metric. Core count and raw on die specs don't tell you the entire picture.

Like all new cards this gen, I fear the real issue will just be the price.

yes it does keeping your system nice n cool and i bet it has ton of oc room with 8 pin power connector
 
Seems too weak.
14.5 TFLOPs? It would likely end up between RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti. But with less memory than the 3060.
And the TDP is too low, it's probably a mobile variant.

The 4070 Ti is meant for gaming at 1440P. The 4080 is for peeps who want to game at 4K but can't afford a 4090.
 
ive said before people on 30 series gpu and safely skip 40 series, even the 20series still have enough grunt if you dont mind a bit of graphical tweaking here and there
they are charging high price because they dont want to put prices back down, instead they cut the production down and keeping prices high..
if you gonna buy gpu better to skip a gen or two unless yours suddenly dies

I am holding my RX6800 and wait for something actually gives me a better price/performance ratio.

besides the 4090 nvidia can charge what ever they want since its the fastest card on the market,
the 4080 and 4070ti is overpriced, the 3080 10gb $699 and the 4080 is $1199 - $500 price bump and not to mention the aib cards are $100-$300 more

And the former was supposed to be as fast as 2080 ended up being an improved 2070 with 12 GB instead. 4060 should be at 3080 level of performance like the 1060 and 2060 before were respectively 980 and 1080. This video card market has become a perpetual joke for generations. And Nvidia relies on frame generation to make up for it. More input lag and blurr for the masses.

Let's say you're a gamer and I'm not talking about those games with the wizards, elves and magical fairy dust but first person shooter games where you shoot peeps and blow sh1t up .. the games where smoothness of game play actually means something. What Nvidia card would you purchase for gaming at 1440P with a gpu budget of $800 and what Nvidia gpu would you purchase for gaming at 4K with a budget of $1200?

The 4070 Ti performs better at 2K and below relative to the 4090 because the 4090 is bottlenecked in a majority of games at those resolutions.

But yes, core count isn't everything, the 4070 Ti has 66.6% of the L2 cache of a 4090. This rumored 4060 has half the cache of the 4070 Ti, which is an extremely significant drop. Couple that with a smaller bus and slower memory and you have a card that's guaranteed to be limited.

The 4070 Ti is meant for gaming at 1440P. The 4080 is for peeps who want to game at 4K but can't afford a 4090.

I don't know what's worse, that a 1440p graphics card is $800 in 2023 or that you have to spend $1,200 to get one for 4K.

it depends what gpu u have at the moment for 1440p if you have an older 10 or 20 series that is not cutting the mustard for you personally then 4070ti is a great card for it.
but price comes into play because at the end of the day you decide whether its worth getting the 4070ti what it will cost you..
if you think its worth it then its cool but i think majority of the people doesnt like the price for the performance of the card you are getting...
not saying you are wrong just not many will be able to afford the card .. no matter how you look at it $800 is a lot for mid (highish) gpu

The 1080 Ti was released in February of 2017 so I'd say the 4070 Ti at $800 isn't a bad deal.
