Unfortunately this only stops the degradation. It does not reverse it.

Allegedly at this point remember their marketing said these are pro level drives that have high duration in the first place so allegedly at this point yet to be determined in terms efficacy of the update!

Update another Magician software update another 1% loss of life so now my 990 pro has 98% life. The only thing I did was install Hogwarts and 20% complete progress for game. Stay away from Samsung drives until they realize that their laxed approach to this will not be tolerated. They are relying on mind share too much but this arrogance will bight them in the arse!

They been pretty lucky the 870 EVO escaped news coverage as well.

All of the following SKUs issues. Its past bad luck at this point its a pattern.

Yeah someone posted issues with 970 evo not sure what the issue is I only saw a lot of heat but yeah I haven't used mine in over a year or my 970 evo plus.
Both only 500gb.

Had my 2 terabyte 970 Evo plus for 3 years and it still says 100% life with 10 x the writes of my 990 pro 2 terabytes at 98% life since black Friday 2022.

Update new magician software came out last month and so far life is stable at 98%.
Seems like the negative press got to them and they lowered the price by a whopping $136 lol the 990 pro 2 terabytes is
