Intel Graphics today released the Arc Graphics GPU drivers 31.0.101.4146 WHQL. These work with Arc A-series discrete GPUs, Iris Xe MAX discrete GPU, and the Iris iGPUs found in Intel Core processors from the 11th Gen onward. For Arc A-series GPUs, the drivers add optimization for "Destiny 2: Lightfall" and "Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty," along with several performance improvements for "Halo Infinite" (DX12). Besides performance improvements, several color-corruption bugs with the game have been fixed for Arc A-series GPUs; and an application crash noticed with "Red Dead Redemption 2" in Vulkan API mode with fullscreen. Texture corruption issues with DiRT 5, and "Total War: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide," have been fixed.

Gaming Highlights
Intel Game On Driver support on Intel Arc A-series Graphics for:
  • Destiny 2: Lightfall
  • Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Game performance optimizations on Intel Arc A-series Graphics for:
  • Halo Infinite (DX12)
Fixed Issues
Intel Arc Graphics Products:
  • Halo Infinite (DX12) may exhibit color corruption during gameplay when Reflections settings are enabled.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 (Vulkan) may experience application crash in benchmark mode when Screen Type is Fullscreen.
Intel Core Processor Products:
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (DX12) may exhibit texture or striped corruption during gameplay.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (DX12) may exhibit texture or striped corruption during gameplay.Dirt 5 (DX12) may exhibit texture corruption in the skybox.
Known Issues
Intel Arc Graphics Products:
  • Sea of Thieves (DX11) may exhibit color corruption on water edges.
  • Conqueror's Blade (DX11) may exhibit corruption in benchmark mode.
  • The Riftbreaker (DX12) may exhibit black line corruption with the Xbox Game Pass version.
  • System may hang while waking up from sleep. May need to power cycle the system for recovery.
  • GPU hardware acceleration may not be available for media playback and encode with some versions of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Blender may exhibit corruption while using Nishita Sky texture node.
Intel Iris Xe MAX Graphics Products:
  • Driver installation may not complete successfully on certain notebook systems with both Intel Iris Xe + Iris Xe MAX devices. A system reboot and re-installation of the graphics driver may be required for successful installation.
Intel Core Processor Products:
  • Total War: Warhammer III (DX11) may experience an application crash when loading battle scenarios.
  • Conqueror's Blade (DX12) may experience an application crash during game launch.
  • A Plague Tale: Requiem (DX12) may experience application instability during gameplay.
Intel Arc Control Known Issues:
  • Windows UAC Admin is required to install and launch Arc Control.
  • The Live Performance Monitoring page may not apply the desired removal of some performance metric tiles.
  • The Resizable Bar status may show an incorrect value on systems with multiple Intel Graphics Adapters.
  • Using Arc Control Studio capture with certain games may incorrectly generate multiple video files.
  • Using Arc Control Studio capture with AVC codec selected may incorrectly use the HEVC codec
  • Modifying performance sliders may fail to apply back to their default values. A workaround is to use the "Reset to Defaults" button.

Just a sidelines comment, but I really wish Intel could shrink the version name of their Arc Graphics drivers, so it wouldn't look like an IP address, because this is painful to look at.

technically nv's is the same (31.0.15.3118 for the latest), they just decided to shorten it to 531.18

at least unofficially intel drivers are referred to by their last 4 digits asw (4146) in this case, they just opt for full, proper naming for official usage

Finally! the move for unification has begun! This is actually a big release all things considered!

Nice catch! I hope this brings tangible improvements to the user experience.

Good to see their driver being so enthusiastically updated.

They just don't wan't to look bad compared to nvidia - their driver is really 141.46. :)
The version doesn't matter however, it's what's inside that matters.

but...

but...

Can it run the "Can it run Crysis" app now, hehehe :D

But seriously, what performance level are their cards up to now after the update ? Close to a 1660 or what ?

Around the RTX 3060 Ti and RX 6700 XT.

If they can fully make use of the 128 ROPs/256 TMUs it has, it may actually match or beat the RTX 3080 and RX 6800 XT since the specs of the A770 are identical to those two cards hardware-wise.

"Ha ha Intel bad".
Brah, please. You have ARC reviews on this site too, it's very well known they are decently powerful, even with driver issues.

I sure hope they do keep pushing driver optimizations. I do imagine we need games to account for Alchemist too, though. Hogwarts Legacy runs it at 3070 ish level, specially helped by the 16GB of VRAM since that game is very VRAM intensive. I hope that trend of new games running better on Alchemist than old ones help push Intel forward.

Competition is always good.

Their SPIR-V compiler is still an unusable mess, making Xe and ARC completely unstable on anything running an up-to-date Vulkan version.
I hope complaining here helps get attention to it, just ignore me.
