it looks like these boards were crafted to spite AMD, the priced of the ASUS entry proves it defying the sub $100 demand by AMD.

Actually, yes.
-Just about every non-entertainment use that benefits from an AM5 CPU over an earlier platform.
Especially, content creators, media professionals, etc. do need fast storage and have no need for OCing and other extraneous features.

A 12- or 16-core AM5 CPU and a couple big UDIMMs would make a fantastic 'budget, but modern' workstation.
