Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person horror game set in a desolate WW1 Bunker. Face the oppressing terrors stalking the dark corridors. Search for and use the tools and weapons at your disposal, while keeping the lights on at all costs. Overcome fear, persevere, and make your way out alive. Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person horror game from the makers of SOMA and Amnesia.

RISING TENSION
Immerse yourself in the multiple ways of tackling survival. In the shoes of the French soldier Henri Clément, you are armed with a revolver gun, a noisy dynamo flashlight, and other scarce supplies to scavenge and craft along the way. With randomization and unpredictable behavior, no play-through is the same. Hunted by an ever-present threat reacting to your every move and sound, you must adapt your play-style to face hell. Every decision will change the outcome of how the game responds. Actions bear consequences.

Overcome fear, persevere, and make your way out alive. In this gameplay demonstration of Amnesia: The Bunker we show an in depth look of the game's dynamic and immersive ways to tackle survival:

Amnesia: The Bunker is launching May 23rd.

Is it the sequel of the amnesia the dark descent? Or yet another game?

Probably another game, I think the story is of Dark Descent has more or less officially been rounded up with/by the community through mods etc.

The trailer is pretty great though, that map is oldschool penumbra.
Actually this entire game looks much more like Penumbra then it does Amnesia.

But im reaaally not a fan of that gun, im sure its all very limited in use but.....I mean the evolution of the Frictional Game's games is less and less ways of protecting yourself, so to now have a gun is a bit eh....idk.

But its one of the VERY few studios I still hold in high regard so ill get this and probably enjoy it a lot, havent played that last Amnesia game yet though.

The Amnesia: a Machine for Pigs is scary at first but midway it becomes less and less scarier. I'm not a fan of it.

But this one looks promising. I really hope it will be good or even better than the Dark Descent.
If you've heard about Soma, that's a reaaally good game from them. I recommend you playing it. The story itself is also mind-blowing imo.

This is my first thought when seeing the screenshot with gun in it. Really not a fan. Hopefully it will not ruin the original survival horror experience.

In the first one You had no means to protect Yourself and had to conserve the scarse amount of matches for lighting up the rooms.
The sequel gave You an unlimited lamp.
The third part introduces a gun.
The fourth one will probably scatter armor and healthpacks everywhere.
And finally Amnesia 5 will give You a frickin' BFG + godmode!

I liked the original Amnesia for the tension throughout the whole game - jumpscares were rare, but the game properly built up the sense of danger, that something might happen at any moment... Unless the gun is a quest item, I'm afraid we're gonna get something like first-person-view Resident Evil.

Yeah Soma was brilliant, the story was fab, the ending hit hard... Wow.

I played Machine for Pigs, I know its generally not well received (different dev and all) but I liked it fine, story was interesting to follow for sure.
The one I havent played is Rebirth.

The thing with the gun is, I mean it might be alright, heck it might even be worse, thats also something that takes me out of the game.
You know when you basically see the game mechanics?
Like when you play a horror game and you have no weapons but some monster is stalking you, what does that mean? well that means you can either hide or run away because otherwise you would always lose, there is gameplay that support the fact that you dont have a means to defend yourself.
Then as soon as you get a weapon you know, ok...now its on, now I can get into situations where running and hiding is not possible.

That could be what the gun means here and in that sense its going to be interesting to see about when to decide you have to use it or when you think "im sure I can hide somewhere around here".

agreed, but at the same time I remember thinking....how is it not clear to my character how this works at this point.
I mean I get it but I was also kinda annoyed by the guy, but its a fair character trait to have, makes him more human I guess.

I am taking into account all the games from Frictional.

Penumbra Overture actually gave you means to defend yourself, you had a hammer and you COULD beat an enemy to death (did it on a crate on hard difficulty, it took forever....but it was possible).
Penumbra Blackplague took away your weapon but enemies were still very physically based so I think maybe you could shine a light at them or something, idk been years but you could still protect yourself somehow, just not kill them.
Amnesia, well you know how that goes, run and hide and dont look at the monster, so another step further.

And SOMA put you in situations where hiding wasnt enough, you had to run and get some stuff done quickly to get away.

(Rebirth idk, havent played it yet)

And now here we are, back with a gun, but as I explained above, upon thinking about it, it might not be a bad thing, it can actually be more tense...WHEN DO YOU USE THIS THING!!! AAAHHHH CRAP CRAP CRAAAA (dead).

Nope, not a chance in hell I could play this game. That is just too intense. Would make a an awesome horror movie though.
