FSP's marketing department is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one. Semi-fanless operation has been mainstream for how long, now?

Im surprised to see this today since i bought one a month ago. But after some research and checking reviews, i found that FSP even if it is kind of a unknown companie make powers supplies for others brands like EVGA. The HYDRO PTM X PRO ATX3.0 & Gen 5 is really a bang for the buck, you get a premium 1000 watt psu with platinum rating and quality component for the prices of a mainstream 1000w gold rated from other known brands.

Makes you wonder is it possible to water cool your PSU. Too bad ATX 3.0 now obsolete, 3.1 in the works. The decrepit pcie 5.0 connection is getting revised.

It's some thing i hate about PSU's, it's about time the user had more control over the fan. My Corsair get really hot while gaming all because the fans running way to slow.

At least it's a switch, don't really care if the option is present if they allow you to turn it off which it seems that literally everyone except corsair understands.

Basically sfx-L length atx psus, interesting.

i found that FSP even if it is kind of a unknown companie
Unkown? It's been around for 30 years, and among other things, it's one the biggest (if not THE biggest) OEM/ODM supplier of the PSU market with a generally good reputation.

tl;dr: Couldn't really be farther from unknown.

What you just said is exactly what i found when searching about them, to my surprise i had never really heard of them since it's a OEM/ODM their PSU mostly get sold under other brand names or inside prebuilts.

Yeah I've been seeing these on sale for a while now

The bearing of the fan.
Nah the "hydro" refers to the conformal coating they have for the internals. The product page says it's to allow the unit to run in more humid environments than competitors

Staring at 850W and up........................bummer

10 yr warranty is nice...............but it's nicer when there is a depot in your country. I have a seasonic 550W focus gold under warranty............bought the psu a year ago when prices were dirt cheap ($58)...............closest depot is in SoCal.............shipping was $40............needless to say I didn't bother.

Be nice to see more (good) options in the market though, seems a lot of psus out of stock.................for whatever reason(s)?

I wish semi-modular power supplies were more popular.

Those ATX cables are not optional.

If we can only have fully modular power supplies, it would also be nice if pin layout were standardized so you could purchase 3rd party cables of different length and style (if you care about that sort of thing).
