As we enter the middle of August, the month keeps delivering when it comes to new game releases and this coming week we have multiple AA titles to look forward to. There are a lot of things to look forward to, including submarines, spaceships, controlling chaos, chainsaws, oval balls and much more. Please keep voting in the poll, as it gives us an indication of what kind of games you like, as we ignore the negativity in the poll anyhow.

Everspace 2 / This week's AA title / Tuesday 15 August
Everspace 2 puts you in the pilot seat in this fast-paced single-player space shooter, where vicious encounters and brutal challenges stand between you and that next epic loot drop. Explore the war-torn star systems of the Demilitarized Zone of Cluster 34—each massive handcrafted area is packed with secrets, puzzles, and perils to encounter. Experience a thrilling sci-fi story following Adam, a clone pilot seeking his place in the universe. The events of his past tangle with clashing factions as the DMZ approaches a boiling point. Escape colonial capture, navigate the intrigues of local warlords, evade energy-maddened cultists, and fend off war-hungry aliens.

Verne: The Shape of Fantasy / Monday 14 August
Become Jules Verne and adventure into the dangers that hide in Hemera, a fantastic parallel world built from his own imagination. Explore, solve puzzles and unlock the most coveted secret of the mighty Atlantis.

Wayfinder / Tuesday 15 August
Become a Wayfinder, and unlock their powers as you choose your path and playstyle while pushing back a hostile force that has overtaken your world. Control the Chaos as you directly shape and customize the endless adventures you go on with friends, because Wayfinders are stronger together.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood / Wednesday 16 August
Immerse yourself in an enchanting narrative experience as Fortuna, a fortune-teller Witch condemned to exile on her asteroid home. Craft your own Tarot deck, regain your freedom, and shape the fate of the cosmic Witch society.

Gord / Thursday 17 August
Gord is a single-player adventure strategy. To survive, you must build, but to prevail, you must conquer the darkness beyond the gates. In this dark fantasy world, you must complete quests while managing a populace whose personal stories and well-being decide the fate of your tribe.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre / This week's second AA title / Friday 18 August
Take on the role of one of the notorious Slaughter family, or their victims, in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a third-person asymmetrical horror experience based on the groundbreaking and iconic 1974 horror film. As a victim you must use your wits and stealth to stay out of the Family's reach and find the tools you need to lead to your eventual freedom. Slaughter Family players must seek out, track down, and stop their guests from escaping. Players of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can finally find out if they have what it takes to survive.

Madden NFL 24 / Friday 18 August
Experience the newest iteration of FieldSENSE in Madden NFL 24. More realistic character movement and smarter AI gives you control to play out your gameplay strategy with the confidence to dominate any opponent.

Voted for Verne, but Everspace 2 also looks interesting.

For a game going into early access in two days, there's precious little actual information on Wayfinder. Thankfully streamers have already uploaded their experience, and it does actually look interesting - but holy moly, the playwayfinder.com site is a total disaster that makes it look more like a P2W mobile game with the little info it does provide about gameplay.

Everspace 2 is out (from Early Access) since April, 6th.

I played 58h49, 4 months ago. It's a good space shooter.
It's very different from Everspace.

For consoles.
The official launch for PC was April, 6th :p
I was wondering what was happening :D
Maybe include it's the console version which will be out in 2 days, this link you posted per example.

Pixel art presentation with intriguing storyline, original puzzles and non-linear gameplay?
Sign me up for Verne and The Cosmic Wheel! :peace:

I liked Everspace (1), so I'll be checking out Everspace 2 but that price gotta drop.

Same same. I've had it on my wishlist for THREE YEARS next month but the devs just have zero intention to put it on a decent sale.

The best they've done is 25%, which was just before a forever price hike and two sales where they've not dipped that low again.

The top review isn't very encouraging either :shadedshu:

At the end of the Day this is an Arcade style Space Sim with heavy RPG elements. As a result you will not remember paying what you did. I have been playing since 2022 on Early Access and can promise you that if you that Everspace 1 was good this is stellar in comparison.

Yes the price is a bit high but I'd say it's well worth it and over 90% of players like it. My first playthrough was around 80 hours doing every side mission and not rushing through missions, so I guess normal playtime would be something like 60-90 hours. I like to compare it to the old Freelancer game, but this is much better in my opinion.

Everspace 2 has a demo on Steam. I recommend trying it if you want a space sim. It's a bit too casual for my taste (Star Trek: Bridge Commander is still the ultimate space sim), but it's a nice, refreshing game.

I've got mixed feelings about that Verne game. I don't usually mind pixel art, bit this one looks a bit too pixely and clunky for me. The idea is good, it makes it a worthy candidate for my wishlist.
