I don't know where you live but here in the USA, we're a free market economy. A merchant can charge whatever they want, as long as someone pays for it.

Hell, some people are crazy enough to buy inkjet cartridges that have printer ink that's more expensive by weight than vintage French champagne.

How much did you pay for your shoes? Your car? Your cellphone? Here in the USA, those prices aren't set by the government. The merchants will charge what the market will pay.

Remember that some companies have become very rich servicing the high end of the consumer market (*cough* Apple *cough*). Disclaimer: I am both an Apple customer and an indirect shareholder of AAPL.

The customers will let Razer know if they are willing to pay for this new offering. My guess is that this product has fat gross margins and shareholders *LOVE* fat margins.

This product isn't competing with the no-name $29.95 tossers, it's really competing with the keyboards in the $150+ market. Just like the Tesla Model S isn't competing with the Honda FIT.

So far i've had three Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro keyboards and all 3 have gone back to the retailer for being faulty. The first two had coil whine. I know right - how TF can a keyboard have coil whine? It was actually like a high pitched bell ringing when I put my ear close to the F8/F9 keys. The 3rd one I sent back because the charging port was faulty and would lose connection if the charging cable was plugged in and anybody touched it. I'm using a Logitech G915 now instead and it's way better build quality. They keys are better lit and the keycaps are slightly wider than the Deathstalker V2 Pro's so less typos too. It's easily the best keyboard i've ever used for comfort and responsiveness. I'm using the Clicky switches version.

I NEED to add this deck to my collection. I'll probably get flack for saying this, but, I don't think $190 is a bad price for this -- I applaud Razer for finally reading the room and offering a hot-swappable board with "enthusiast" features like case foam, lubed stabs, etc., plus being able to support screw-in stabs and most 3 or 5 pin switches AND bringing back their orange switches. There's a TON of things I love about this board.

If this had Analog switches, the I'd consider getting one (despite the high price lol). At the moment, the Wooting 60HE is still top tier for me in gaming with a Corsair K70 TKL for everyday use.

That layout looks hella uncomfortable, but on the other hand, I guess one just can get used to it after a while. For me it's either a full one, TKL or 60%.

I'm definitely feeling the Blackwidow V4. Hot-swappable switches were the one thing I wished my old Blackwidow Lite and current V3 Mini Hyper had.

Combined with the foam and gasket and such, I'm quietly excited. Sure, you get all the above with Keychron, Drop and many, many more enthusiast boards for significantly less. But for Razer fans, I think this V4 is a definite thumbs up.

8k polling rate actually make any difference at all ?, that's all i see that it has, well unless you want to count in the 3-5 pin compatibility.

I guess there should not be any need to take it apart so voiding warranty doing so which should not be allowed in some places.

High price for a cut down board, i am guessing still use login to their software which has to be running all the time?

i have had 5-6 Razor products and all have failed on me before the warranty time and then failed before a year after that including the original Blackwidow which was full size.

You can buy everything, and alongside that freedom comes the freedom to shit all over this nonsense This isnt a valuable piece of gear or a vintage thats been on the barrel for a few decades; its factory made cheap plastic shit. Its not rare, its not unique, yet overpriced. This is a different thing than what you compare it to like a sports car that actually goes fast or shoes that last a lifetime. This is more in the corner of branding without substance. This keyboard does everything any other mech can do, while they print RAZER on it.
