As we enter the fourth week of August, we have yet another packed week of new game releases to look forward to. This week's AAA title will most likely get a lot of flack due to the publisher and thus it's not likely to get a lot of votes in this week's poll either. However, we have a lot more for you this week, ranging from a walking simulator to blaspheming, from mech's to jumping lights and more.

Immortals of Aveum / This week's AAA title / Tuesday 22 August
Immortals of Aveum is set in an original fantasy universe engulfed in magic, rife with conflict, and on the edge of the abyss. Players experience this visceral and cinematic, story-driven game through the eyes of Jak, as he joins an elite order of battlemages, masters all three colors of magic - blue, green, and red - and decimates legions of enemies with clever chained attacks and well-timed counters. Combining a modern story within a fantasy setting, the world of Aveum is filled with unforgettable characters, fast-paced action and spell-based combat that defies FPS conventions.

Jumplight Odyssey / Monday 21 August
Keep hope alive on your adventure to the mythical Forever Star! Gather survivors, repair and build out your starship, brave black holes, and fend off attacks, all while managing the daily soap opera of your colorful crew.

Fort Solis / Tuesday 22 August
Responding to an unusual alarm call from a remote mining base, Jack arrives at the dark and desolate Fort Solis. With storm warnings imminent, he heads inside to make desperate contact. As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself.

X Invader / Wednesday 23 August
Become the master hacker 'X' and hack into the digital world. Utilize various weapons and hacking add-ons to create your own combat build. Wipe out the incoming enemies with exhilarating hack and slash action!

Blasphemous 2 / Thursday 24 August
The Penitent One awakens as Blasphemous 2 joins him once again in an endless struggle against The Miracle. Dive into a perilous new world filled with mysteries and secrets to discover, and tear your way through monstrous foes that stand between you and your quest to end the cycle once and for all.

Armored Core VI Fire of Rubicon / This week's AA title / Friday 25 August
In Armored Core VI Fire of Rubicon players will assemble their mech from a wide variety of parts and weaponry to soar freely through mission locales that redefine three-dimensional mobility. Face down overwhelming opposition by outgunning and overrunning your enemies with dynamic movement that makes full use of ranged and melee combat.

Fort Solis runs on UE5.2 yet doesn't ask for much:

The game seems to proceed in linear fashion in mostly confined environments, but still. Could it be the first UE5 title with realistic requirements?

an Engine is principle is just that, an engine, they could push Textures to ridiculous sizes, heck original art size so you need over 24gb of Vram to display them...but of course they dont do that, the engine could, but the devs dont want that.

In this case, sure, it runs on UE5 but if it basically does not make use of anything that defines UE5 as a next gen engine, which mind you a LOT of future developers will follow, the engine is free to use, so many indie devs will use it and not push the high end features, then its not going to be demanding.

The real question is or rather eye opener, stop looking at engines, stop looking at claims, stop even looking at RT or Lumen or any of that nonsense.
In the end non of it matters , it does not matter what is powering it, just simply look at what is actually presented, what is offered and if that matches what the game asks of the hardware.

Crysis was and imo still is a very impressive looking game.
Cyberpunk isnt and never was, sure if you look at what RT does for it, thats great, but core models and just design of it all...does that really honestly "objectively" look so amazing compared to other titles?

and now we have this new Doctor Strange the FPS game and honestly I just think it looks extremely unappealing, probably a lot to do with the style not working for me but also just visually its just...how is this that impressive?
It actually reminds me a lot of Godfall, from 3 years ago.

The devs (and the money) define how much resources the game will require, not just the engine. There are many ways to reach a final result, it seems to me that recent games use shortcuts to reduce production time, but this ends up being inefficient in terms of optimization. In addition, major studios have cut part of the testing teams in order to expand profit margins(even with multi-million dollar profits).

Fort Solis to me just looks like a rip off of doom, mining station on mars? Really!?

Armored Core though looks awesome, I don't know if it's good or not, seeing the number VI gives me bad vibes of a repetitive franchise, have to check out what the older games were about. Either way, it would be my first contact with it so can't be too bad

Jumplight Odyssey and Fort Solis look interesting. Added them to my Steam wishlist.

That was my first thought as well. It'll all depend on the execution, imo. If it manages to offer something extra besides being a Mars themed generic horror sci-fi, it's a win for me.

Fort Solis this week, even if it's looks like Dead Space :/
Love the art of Blasphemous 2, tried the 1st but something off with the gameplay make me put the game away ...
Maybe I'll try the sequel ?

Fort Solis got my attention definitely. Can't wait for the release tomorrow and NDA lift on the reviews. Expected play time is 4-6 hours, so I will try not to spoil too much for myself.

4-6 hours? Is that it? The game shouldn't cost more than £10-12 for that.

What a week in the world of Media. The Champions League returns tomorrow. Ashoka launches on Wednesday and Armored Core 6 launches on Friday. Will Armored Core draw me away from Exoprimal? We will see.

Not sure in quid, but I saw 30-35 bucks expected launch price. ~7 hours before Steam makes the official launch, soon enough we will know.

EDIT: my bad, it's all there already.

That's too expensive for such a short game. I'll wishlist it.
