MicroCenter has reduced the price of PowerColor's Fighter Radeon RX 7600 graphics card to $229, representing a nice $40 saving over the original launch price of $269. A digital download version of Bethesda's upcoming epic, Starfield, is also included as a bundled incentive (Standard Edition is worth $69.99) to purchase the budget friendly model that is based on Team Red's Navi 33 XL GPU.

The offer is limited to in-store purchases—it seems that MicroCenter has nullified the option to get the discounted PowerColor Fighter card delivered to your address of choice. Other retailers in North America appear to be selling Radeon RX 7600 cards for around $260. This price bracket is also occupied by Intel's Arc A750 and A770 8 GB models, following consistent price cuts in order to attract cautious buyers to the nascent Alchemist GPU architecture.

Only $50 more to go and it would a decent buy for low end gaming. It is just a 7500 after all.

It's finally competing with RDNA2 at this price, and Starfield thrown in is a juicy treat indeed for those interested.

I still feel that if you're only in the market for an 8GB card and you must buy new rather than used, the vanilla RX 6600 is all the card you'll need. It'll do 1080p gaming just fine, and it'll be replaced because it runs out of VRAM, not because it's too slow, which makes it no worse than any of the more expensive cards up to and including the 4060 at twice the price.

If you want a step up from the 6600, then it's because you want a 1440p card, more VRAM, or more features. The 6600XT, 6650XT, 7600, and 4060 all fall short of that mark right now and IMO those four cards are stuck in limbo with no purpose other than to offer different buying prices. If you're playing games that are more than 2-3 years old, cheaper cards like the RX 6600 are absolutely fine, and if you're playing AAA games from 2023 there's a decent chance you're going to be turning down settings to fit in 8GB - in which case why did you bother buying a new GPU in the first place?

The 3060 12GB is going to be an interesting card to watch in the next year. It's no faster than a 6600XT at best, but 12GB is enough to ensure you're not turning down texture quality to make it run acceptably....

Still very expensive for a 128 bit memory bus, a fair price right now would be around 129 usd maximum.

Sill waiting for a MC in Canada. …..

Keep dreaming. Name the comparably performing card you can buy for $130 which would enable this fantasy price.

4Gbs 5500 XT was that price before the crypto. the 8Gb 5500 XT was also at $229-$259.

You'd have to turn down all the settings anyway on those cards.

almost everything has moved up in price and i pray it wont go up much higher, i read somewhere there was alot of factors
making the prices go up. one of it was shipping freight cost shot up X10 from $1500 per shipment to $11000... pandemic... also shortages of labour to get goods to overwhelming demand during the pandemic and now the prices shot up nobody can afford these luxury goods... for a 1080p card the 7600 is a nice gpu

sea freight from china to EU/NA is basically the same price as before covid nowadays.
the only factor is greed and cheaping out on everything...
4060 Ti 8 to 16GB for 100€ extra. a huge company like a GPU manufacturer pays 30-40 cents for one 2GB IC

Please explain.

Users expect performance increase every generation because every year they get more and more demanding games, what could have been played at max settings at 4K in 2020, is no longer possible and they must dial down games settings to even 1K in 2023. Hence, AMD is obliged to give at least 25% (better 30-40%) performance increase every year. With RX 7600 over RX 6600 XT | RX 6650 XT it didn't - so you get the normal expectation that this is a rebranded card from down the product stack. But the greed struck badly and AMD decided to call it ***60 tier and charge significantly more than its normal retail value and cost must have been, to start with.

In my country this model of PowerColor in this moment is selling between $323-$354 USD. :(

You can ship from Germany - if you know people who are there.
But, at the moment RX 6600 XT and RX 6650 XT are the cards to go. Don't buy RX 7600.

Bingo! You are pretty much spot on shipping charges. The questionable comments (or market speak as we call it) here from tech (as well from housing market, Silicon Valley, Etc) is pretty thick this quarter. The cost for now memory and the profits from going with this chiplet design is gives me pause on why I will not buy the 7000 series at the moment.

So will I. The only card worth this generation is the RX 7900 XT 20GB but it's heavily overpriced. Waiting to drop to 400$.

Nope. The 5500 XT is a lower tier card and was $170, not $130. And got 69 fps at 1080p in 2019 games while the 7600 gets 105 fps at 1080p in 2023 games. Different tiers in price and performance.

Meanwhile the 128-bit 4060 Ti (8GB) starts at 420EUR. So no, the width of the bus doesn't make a modern lower mid-end card a budget card.

Even mid-end cards with 128-bit bus like 6600 GT were at that 200EUR range about 20 years ago. And back then we didn't have 2000EUR enthusiast cards.

Different tier but not by a gigantic amount. The 5500XT was comparable to a 5 year old 980 where the 7600 is comparable to a 5 year old 2080

Exactly. I wouldn't touch that thing. For $229 most of the time you can get a 2080 Ti or even 3070 on Ebay. Sometimes a 3070 Ti. Shoot 3080's sell for $300-320 sometimes.

Nope, never was 170. It was 200-225.

The review games are not divided into 2019 ones and 2023 ones - they are actually pretty much the same, and because the time difference between the releases is at least 3 years and a half, you got that normal generational improvement..
So, yes, the fake 7600 is not a 7600 but a 7400 XT or 7500.

Radeon RX 5500 XT: 69 FPS - 100%
Radeon RX 6500 XT: 66 FPS - 95% https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-radeon-rx-6500-xt-tuf-gaming/30.html
Radeon RX 7400 XT | 7500: 105 FPS - 152%

Stop with the bullshit The card was selling below MSRP before the Crypto crap & had regular had sales with $20-50 off. Which mean $130 Statement is Still true.

The 4GB VRAM version of the RX 5500 XT was very poorly received for several reasons. Could it be that you have this card in mind, remembering the reduced prices? I've looked at the pricing history of the 8GB VRAM version on several web resources and haven't seen a regular price below MSRP since before the crypto boom.

RX 5500 XT 4GB - 170$ and mostly OEM only.
RX 5500 XT 8GB - 200$
Launched December 2019
At that time AMD's highest part was the Radeon VII 16GB retailing for 700$.

So, today's RX 7500 was launched for 270$, while the current AMD's highest part is Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB for 1000$.

So:
RX 5500 XT: 200$
RX 7500: 270$ (35% more)

Radeon VII: 700$
Radeon RX 7900 XTX: 1000$ (43% more)

Ah, was not aware of the lack of the performance bump from the generation jump for that card.

No, it's a 7583 XL Special Edition. In other words, its name can be anything you like and while semantic games like these can get a few people here worked up into a froth, all that matters is what performance it gives.

The 7600 gives over 50% more fps in current games than the 5500 XT did when new. This means that the 7600 is a higher-tier card and should cost more, which it does.

Instead you could argue that there should be a 7500 that delivers 75 fps at $200 or $170 which would make actual sense though such a product seems unlikely to exist any more.
