does any one know how much the 8800gt will cost? and when its coming out?

it's retailed for $250. and it's out right now!
most places have it for $260-280. :(

That's crazy fast for a passively cooled card.

I bet a lot of people never expected to see an Nvidia 8800 series card being passively cooled (myself included...).

Thats one of the sweetest coolers Ive ever seen period. Very nice. Wonder how it do with a mod to allow a fan to be on there...

That thing will run burning HOT :) If stock cooler aleady hits 80, is this 100? If you don't have a good airflow in your comp, I'd reconsider an active cooled version. But it's on stock clocks, where are most active cooled ones seem overclocked. Maybe the stock cooler is just really bad and this does the job ok.

Well, I can confirm, that thing is RUNNING hot.

While the card itself is'nt overheating even under max load... the motherboard chipset is overheating near to it which is giving me a blue screen of death after a couple hours of playing.

I now need to get another fan to point it at the mobo right where the graphics card meets the motherboard on the other side of the coolpipe heatsynch.

EEK

its a crap graphics card i thought about getting it a year ago but i was like nah man ill wait and get a palit, the gimmick seemed good but it wasnt even as good as an AC accelero without a fan
