AMD has released the latest version of AMD Software Adrenalin drivers, version 23.10.2 Beta, that are pretty much identical to the previously available AMD Software Adrenalin drivers, version 23.10.1 WHQL, except for the AMD Anti-Lag+ support. As you probably know, AMD's Anti-Lag+ feature has been triggering Valve's Anti-Cheat (VAC) system in Counter Strike 2, which resulted in ban for some gamers. The issues have been spotted in several other games, and AMD has decided to disable the Anti-Lag+ in all supported games and recommend gamers to use the new driver.

AMD was also keen to note that it is working with game developers to re-instate gamers that were banned due to Anti-Lag+, and promised more information when available. As it was the case with the previous release, the new AMD Software Adrenalin drivers, version 23.10.2 Beta also adds optimizations for Assassin's Creed Mirage, Lords of the Fallen, and Forza Motorsport games. It fixes several issues in Starfield, Counter Strike 2 and EA FC 23, as well as some other bugs and issues.

DOWNLOAD: AMD Software Adrenalin 23.10.2 Beta

  • Intermittent driver crash while playing Counter Strike 2 with MSAA or FSR enabled on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
  • Improvements to stutter experienced while playing Counter Strike 2.
  • EA SPORTS FC 24 may fail to open on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon RX 7800 XT.
  • System freeze or black screen when playing video files on Radeon RX 6000 Series Graphics Products.
  • The display may intermittently freeze after changing the encode format while streaming select games with AMD Link.
  • Intermittent app crash in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II when Radeon Anti-Lag is enabled.

Known Issues
  • Performance Metrics Overlay may report N/A for FPS on various games.
  • Audio may intermittently become out of sync with video when recording from AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition with AV1 codec.

It doesn't work well in some games, so let's disable it in every game. No, thank you, I'll stay with 23.10.1.

Its a hot fix, nuke the feature for now and analyze thungs better for future reenablement. Of course some of the games are obviously no problem but they have ti rethink their approach.

Yeah that is what I don't get.
Why disable it in games like Starfield and Witcher 3 etc when those games don't use any form of Anti-Cheat?
Just remove the Esport games from the white-list in the meantime

It's the easy button. Easy = fast, and that was important here.

If I release a game with anti-cheat tomorrow and this feature triggers the anti-cheat, what am I supposed to do? Wait for AMD to fix this, which could take months, while having to manually review the bans? Disabling the feature completely is a fast and easy interim solution that doesn't require developers to do anything on their end, neither for existing games nor for the future ones.

yea so even games that made it into AMD's own anti-lag+ marketing material (apex legends) has shown to ban it's usage.
So I can only say that this move makes sense, even though its AMD's own fault to not first communicate to competitive online game developers their new software hook (the foresight!).

Anti-Lag+ only shows up in games that are white-listed.
If you release a new game nothing happens, because that option will not appear in the Driver until AMD white-list it. The toggle switch just isn't there by default.

That's why I'll stay with the WHQL version. My only competitive gameplay is a half-hour session in World of Tanks every 6 months or so.

Hahahahaha what a s**tshow. You couldn't make this level of incompetence up if you tried.

I mean, AMD white listed CS2, seemingly without asking Valve first. You see how that worked out.
