After the great reception of the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X6 in the market, EK, the premium water-cooling gear manufacturer, is launching another pump-reservoir-manifold combo unit, the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 - Acetal. Just like its predecessor, the X6, the latest product also has a dedicated fill port, drain port with an optional QDC, and a small window for visually monitoring the coolant level.

EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 - Acetal
This is a custom water-cooling reservoir, routing, and pump solution. It can act as a regular pump-reservoir combo, be used as a manifold, or practically as a distribution plate, even though its aesthetics vastly differ from most distro plates. The X3 in the name designates the number of components it can directly connect as a manifold, and D5 indicates a single D5 pump pushing the liquid around the loop. It can be mounted to the case in many different ways. EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 has M4 screw threads on the side opposite the ports and on the backside, allowing for plenty of mounting options, multiplied by the bracket with 120 mm fan mounting hole spacing (105 mm). Eight (8) G1/4" ports are available, of which two (2) act as dedicated fill and drain ports.

Genuine D5 Pump
This combo unit comes with a powerful yet silent PWM-controlled D5 pump. The goal was to make a product with enough power to offer excellent reliability and outstanding performance with multiple blocks and radiators while keeping the noise down to a minimum. The D5 pump has been updated with the latest G3 (Generation 3) variant and comes with a SATA power connector, following the latest PC industry trend to decrease the use of 4-pin Molex cables.

Drain Port With QDC
EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 - Acetal comes with a drain port, a Quick Disconnect Coupling/Fitting, and tubing for users to drain their systems directly from the case without needing any other tools. You simply slide on the part of the QDC with the tubing onto the other half of the QDC installed on the combo unit and effortlessly drain the reservoir. Using the QDC is entirely optional but brings many QoL benefits.

Build Materials
Most of this combo unit is made of durable Black POM acetal, with the addition of a stainless steel plate that goes over the front of the combo and has a sliver opened for the see-through acrylic window.

The pump is held by a black-anodized aluminium holder. Neither the steel plate nor the aluminium holder is in contact with the coolant, so there is no risk of corrosion due to the mixing of metals. The only metal touching the coolant is the nickel-plated brass G1/4" plugs that close the unused ports while high-quality O-rings seal the coolant.

Technical Details
  • Reservoir:
  • Dimensions with the attached pump (W x D x H): 74 x 75 x 180 mm
  • Dimensions with the attached QDC (W x D x H): 115 x 75 x 180 mm
  • Reservoir coolant volume: 120ml
  • Pump Motor:
  • Motor: Electronically commuted spherical motor
  • Rated voltage: 12 V DC
  • Power consumption: 23 W
  • Maximum pressure head: 3.9 m
  • Maximum flow: 1500L/h
  • Maximum system temperature: 60°C
  • Materials: Stainless Steel, PPS-GF40, EPDM O-rings, Aluminium Oxide, Hard Coal
  • Power connector: SATA and 4-pin PWM FAN connector
  • Operational Regime:
  • PWM duty cycle: ~ 20-100%
  • Default behavior: Runs at 100% duty cycle when no PWM feedback signal is present

Availability and Pricing
The EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 - Acetal is available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and partner reseller network. It is expected to ship out in early February 2024. The manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP) for the table below shows the EK-Pro Pump Reservoir Manifold X3 D5 - Acetal is €329.90, VAT included.

Great. EK is almost there. They just need to incorporate a good CPU cold plate, adjust the proportions a bit, and add an AM4/AM5 mounting system so I fit one of these on my ITX system CPU.

I still have to wonder if they actually had flow restrictors built in or as screw-in adapters to maintain equal flow rates when all outlets (save the drain line) are used. Otherwise, the top-most line would have the lowest pressure.

They already have something similar with their "EK-Quantum Velocity2 DDC 4.2 PWM D-RGB - AM5 Nickel + Plexi" product. Sure, it uses a DDC instead of a D5 and it only has a typical inlet/outlet (+ fill port) but for a CPU block combo unit, you realistically can't fit more on there without running into compatibility issues with various motherboards and cases.
