Today, MSI - the premium laptop brand with luxurious aesthetic, extreme performance, and innovative technology, proudly announces that its brand-new flagship gaming laptop Titan 18 HX will be the world's first laptop featuring 18" 4K/120 Hz Mini LED display, which is also the most premium laptop display right now.

The 4K/120 Hz Mini LED display on Titan 18 is powered by AmLED technology from AUO, which promises super-bright backlighting, decent HDR performance and wide-enough color gamut. The peak brightness of the display is over 1000 nits, which is 2.5 times brighter compared to regular LCD and thanks to its Adaptive Control Technology, sharper image quality with less halo effect could be expected. The stunning peak brightness also brings exceptional HDR performance with 2M:1 contrast ratio. The Titan 18 has been certified as VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and guarantees immersive HDR experience in game or streaming.

To present as much color as possible, the display on Titan 18 sports super-wide 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, which is perfect for immersive gaming or entertainment. Last but not least, thanks to the MSI exclusive True Color technology, every Mini LED panel on Titan 18 will be strictly examined before assembly and promises the most accurate color reproduction to every enthusiast around the globe.

The new Titan 18 will be officially launched at CES 2024 and more exclusive features could be expected, including world-leading performance, driving more frames in games and be finely presented with its 18" 4K/120 Hz Mini LED display.

"decent HDR performance and wide-enough color gamut"

This is the craziest thing I've ever read in a press release. Especially considering that press releases tend to hype up and oversell.

Imagine seeing a video ad that tries to make everything look badass, over the top, with rock music and all that stuff, whilst the person narrating the ad goes "decent HDR!"
And "wide-enough color gamut".

Like if they did that in a pick up truck commercial

We need a gimmick! Yo, I got it, let's make it 18"?

Is it real or is it Memorex?

If there is anybody out there who has owned or does own one of these behemoth laptops, I'm curious what your use case is and what it's like to own one

This new pickup truck has a "decent" amount of horsepower and a "good enough" suspension that provides premium, world-class all-terrain capabilities.... uh huh, yea, that's the one I wanna buy, like, yesterday :D

Well, I don't own one, but my workstation lapper in the office is an 18" slabmasta, who's main purpose is CAD & database work, and although it's performance & display quality are wonderful, I sure am glad that I don't have to lug it around, take it to meetings or on trips....

Or you could pull an Elon Musk cybertruck fiasco and just make an utter fool of yourself and remind everyone that everything you have comes from your family owning an emerald mine in aparthied South Africa built on slave labor and you are a giant moron!

I own the smaller cousin the GE77HX, I use it for lots of things.

Hi,
Hell my new acer is 17" it's no big deal it's the screen diagonal after all just under 16"x12"

mini-led has been very...lukewarm

So many issues, from response-time to the backlight algorithm really not working and showing halos here and there.

I'd stay away from this tech in gaming. I'd pick a OLED screen for that albeit of course we have burn-in issues.

The future is micro-led anyways but it's decade away. Micro-led will combine the backlight power and longevity of LCD with the response-time, contrast and vibrance of OLED...but we are so far away from having it mainstream.

I'd love an 18 inch laptop.

I'm using a 4K 32" screen for my desktop and it only comfortably goes up to 1440p. I wouldn't do 4K until about 40+ inches.

I'm exceptionally content with 1080p on a laptop. Maybe 1440p though that would be subjective.

Context: I am a productive member of society.
