NVIDIA has released the latest version of its GeForce graphics drivers, the GeForce 546.34 WHQL Game Ready drivers. The GeForce 546.34 WHQL Game Ready drivers bring the same game optimizations and fixes that were previously introduced with GeForce 546.33 WHQL drivers release, which include optimizations and support for DLSS 3 in THE FINALS and Squad games, as well as support for DLSS Super Resolution in Fortnite Chapter 5. The only new thing with this release is the support for the newly announced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090D graphics card released in China.

The list of fixes include muted colors when streaming gameplay with Discord and multiplication of the NVIDIA system tray icon whenever user is switched in Windows.

Or just, you know, use a different browser. I have no idea why you'd want to install another piece of bloatware as a "workaround" in this case.

Browser is also another piece of bloatware ;)

Only when it's not the one you use and was forcibly installed by Windows Update. For me, MS Edge is bloatware.
All browsers are (they all have some kind of telemetry and data farming tools). It's just the user's choice which one he will use :)

Is it true? Will there be a hotfix soon?
Yes it's true, and no, because the only difference between 546.33 and 546.34 is the added support for the 4090D

You're confusing bloatware with spyware. Bloatware is software you don't need and usually comes pre-installed. On mobile devices where apps typically replace browser usage so might call it bloatware but for every day use of desktop PCs and Macs you'll probably have a browser open most of the time.

oh nvidia you silly goose.

In one sentence, you say that bloatware is an application that comes pre-installed but you don’t need that app (of course I understand your personal preferences), but in the next you say that no computer works without a browser. Therefore, in my opinion, an application that is actually necessary to use the computer (even if just to download another browser ;) ) cannot be called bloatware. Well, I don't want to argue, in general I even agree, but I have no illusions either. each browser exists for the sole purpose of collecting user data.

Every system and device is initially equipped with a browser. Windows with Edge, most Linux distributions with Firefox, ChromeOS or Android with Chrome, Apple devices with Safari. All of them are bloatware at some point ;) Everyone "needs your data" and needs more of it every day ;) .
Regards

p.s.
btw, I'm not defending Microsoft or Edge in any way.
Happy New Year !

Da Fck, it's a near 700MB download and it only supports one card ?, LMAO
It's far easier for Nvidia to just add the changed bits to an existing WHQL-ed code branch than to strip out all of the unnecessary cruft and requalify the entire damned thing.

Especially during the holiday season when they are short staffed with people taking extra time off around Christmas and New Year.

Remember that Nvidia periodically releases drivers solely with new hardware support so they already have an established workflow in place.

Well, that's what a Fortune 50 company does anyhow. Maybe some mom-and-pop graphics card manufacturer would do otherwise. But Jensen probably doesn't want to force OT on a bunch of driver and release engineers unnecessarily. There's no fiscal value. It's just added cost.

And the 4090D owners are going to get the full driver package the next time around anyhow, just like everyone else.

Guess what? When they release the 4070 SUPER next year, they will do the same. Same with the 4070 Ti SUPER. Same with 4080 SUPER.

Established release engineering workflow supersedes custom one-off driver packaging. It's probably fortunate for everyone that you don't manage a release engineering team for a Fortune 500 company.

I mean would it have been that hard to just make it a full driver bundle given all the bits are there anyways? Then we wouldn't be having this discussion and that's better PR.

Not all. Most practical ones, yes, but not all. /OT

doesnt seem to work. the only template it offered me was the 4090D; i'd assume the most you can install this on would be a normal 4090 and maybe an RTX AD6000

They're probably using it to access the 1080p/4K streams of Netflix. It's 720p on other browsers.

Hi,
Goodie you can play fortnite on a 4090d

I didn't know that. During the pandemic the quality of the videos got so bad that I was very annoyed and then they decided to raise the prices so I cancelled my subscription. HBO Max has excellent 4K for a fraction of the price (and also Rick & Morty) so I don't even remeber Netflix exists most of the time.

I still remember I downloaded 60MB ATi drivers 2006~2009......

Aye good ol days, made me think of the Cyrix video cards and Matrix drivers coming in no more than 5MB HAHA.
