ASUS has quietly updated its product web presences with another Noctua collaboration OC Edition graphics card—the heavily customized GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB GDDR6X model looks very familiar (in shades of brown); we suspect that the existing cooling solution, shroud and backplate designs have been transplanted from the existing RTX 4080 (non-SUPER) Noctua OC model. W1zzard was impressed by the 2022 version's affixing of twin Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, although a number of factors caused the ultra premium air-cooled ASUS card to miss out on an Editor's Choice award—mainly the $1650 launch price—perhaps deserving of an updated/retrospective "But Expensive" badge of honor.

VideoCardz believes that the SUPER iteration could launch with $200 subtracted (at a minimum) from the non-SUPER's original MSRP—the ASUS listing, naturally, does not provide any details regarding recommended retail pricing or a release date. It seems that reviewers have not received SUPER 16 GB Noctua OC Edition samples this month, so we suspect that the chunky brown Ada Lovelace monster will reach retail at some point later on in the first quarter of 2024.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB GDDR6X Noctua OC Edition product page has provided a bounty of high resolution photos; here are a couple more:

Cool and Quiet
From the shroud to down to the heat spreader, every aspect is optimized to minimize noise.

Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM Fans
The two Noctua NF-A12x25 120 mm fans integrate a low-resonance Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) fan impeller, metal-reinforced motor hub, stabilized bearings, and custom low-noise PWM IC to deliver performance you can rely on day in, day out.

You can do that anyway. Just take off the shoud and use metal tape(or proper sized screws) to secure the fans of your choice directly to the heatsink fins.

Asus....plz not again.
With you. I would rather have fans that are not as ugly as Noctua's nonsense.

I have PNY X Noctua card myself :p

That looks good though! You're using the black chassis fans that fit in with the color-scheme of the rest of the system. The ugly as hell Noctua tan & brown? Hell no.. Get outta here with that crap..

I've done it before with zip ties. I would rather have something that looks better. None of the GPU's I have ever had to this point had a heatsink that didn't have the 120mm fans overhang quite a bit.

That looks fantastic. Please do tell more.

Nice setup you have there.
Did you 3d print that black piece at the end of the videocard?
I'm curious how much it helps in reducind the gpu temperature.
It's actual black cardboard, lol.

Temps are comparable to the stock setup, but the fans only ever spin 600 RPM when i play games, so it's dead silent.

The problem with all GPU Fans these days is that they can't spin below 1000 RPM, that's why they invented Fan Stop. I had one of them hooked up to the motherboard header and slowly went down from 40%, and at 28% (950 RPM) it stopped, and started again around 32% and kept spinning at 30%. They simply have terrible motors.

And since the rest of my system is dead silent, i could hear the fans of the GPU kick in whenever they had to.

haha nice. After you said its actually cardboard, I looked closer and I was like

nice cheap way to make it look so much nicer. I have been wanting to do this mod but for now i'll leave my card be. But will definitely use this idea to cover up the extruded fan bit.
nice looking setup :)

If only we gpus with standard sized fans became a thing... cheaper, more efficient, quieter, they could use smaller heatsinks and make more reasonably sized gpu, it's advantage after advantage. But nonetheless we can only have crappy 90mm fans surrounded by expensive and useless aesthetic plastic pieces :ohwell:

Looks awesome, as usual, even though it's not my price range.

A 6 GB RTX 3050 would be nice with the same design concept (one fan or two smaller ones), but that's not gonna happen.
