Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is the second chapter to the feverishly popular fantasy action RPG by Hidetaka Miyazaki, with world-building by George RR Martin. Publisher Bandai Namco is going to publish its first gameplay trailer later today. A reliable source with franchise leaks, billbil-kun, claims that the the game releases on June 21, 2024. It's likely that this date is part of the gameplay reveal trailer which the studio is posting today. The trailer is said to contain some three minutes of gameplay footage captured within engine.
We will update this story with more insights when the trailer comes out.

Like a Shadow or mordor the movement and controls of this game were too jarring, so this will be pass also.

Good games are gentlemen! Hoping the release of the dlc isn't a broken mess, unlike both the release of the game and the release of all games this year.

Try it with a controller.

Try it with a controller.
Ive nevered own a consoles because, I can't get on with a controler. When you look around with a control its robotic and completely unrealistic compared to using a mouse, that and you can mvoe as fluidly as you can pn a PC - that why a lot of game dont allow Console & Pc players to compete on the same game.

The only way I would consider a PS5/Xbox is if they allowed remote play on my PC using k/b and mouse.

I’m so excited about this expansion . The original game was so good.

There is absolutely nothing whatsoever jarring with the controls, Tarnished. Its extremely straight forward the dodge button is your best friend. Controls are tight like gnat bootie. Like dude said above, I use an Xbox controller for this game. As I've gotten older my reaction times have diminished a tad and when things get tense and I don't want to hit a random button that cause the game to close or some nonsense.

Anywho, I'm insanely excited for this expansion!

Time to dump another 1,000 hours into this again. My two level 713 characters say hello.

famitsu Miyazaki interview

Rough summary
It's NOT a time travel thing, takes place in the same timeframe as the main game

The story of Marika's past is told in the same way the shattering war is told in the main game

Miyazaki points out that Messmer has the same chair as Morgott and says that he's a "child of Marika"

Story is still based on the lore GRRM wrote at very the beginning, he didn't write anything new for it

Biggest From DLC ever, it's an entire new map bigger than Limgrave that you teleport to using the cocoon after beating Mohg, you also need to beat Radahn.

DLC does NOT unlock any changes to the main game's story. DLC story is completely independent.

DLC area has a new kind of attack power (similar to Sekiro's) that you can level up, independent of your regular level. Makes it so that bosses are still tough if you come in at a ridiculous level and still have to explore to level the new thing up.
Eight new weapon TYPES. Tachi (great katana), sword held backwards, a monk style melee weapon, "dueling shield", throwing dagger which turns all regular attacks into ranged attacks.
Land of shadow is filled with culture from before the Erdtree, the lion dance is something from a pre-Erdtree culture.
The DLC has no "ending" where the credits roll but it does have a clear end point.
They are NOT planning any other DLC. This is a big milestone. Miyazaki does say that he's not saying this means that Elden Ring completely ends here, but he does say himself that he means it in the way when he talked about Dark Souls 3's Ringed City and they never made anything after that so this is probably the end for good.
He says that they do want/plan to make more Elden Ring sized games.

No game developer expects that everyone will love it.

Hell, it's just not gaming.

No one pleases everyone all the time. Not even God.

:D
