BenQ is giving finishing touches to the new MOBIUZ EX321UX planar gaming monitor. This 31.5-inch monitor features mini-LED backlighting with 1,152 local dimming zones. The display features an IPS panel offering 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) at 144 Hz refresh rate, and 1 ms GTG response time. The panel features 10 bits per cell color (1.07 billion colors), with 99% coverage of Adobe RGB and DCI-P3. Besides the 1,152 local dimming zones, the panel features a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd/m². Display inputs include one DisplayPort 2.1, three HDMI 2.1, and USB 3.2 type-C. The USB port isn't used for display, but rather just a USB hub. The monitor features HDMI eARC (enhanced audio-return channel) on one of its three HDMI 2.1 ports, with support for 7.1-channel audio output that supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. BenQ is expected to formally launch the display some time in May.

For 4k 144hz, hdmi 2.1 would have been enough, strange why they put a dp 2.1 too. That will likely make the product a lot more expensive and there was no need for that.

strange 10 bit color.
Their professioanl monitor are still 8 bit. WTF

2.1 HDMI & DP are both good to have. For a monitor, you want both DP & HDMI and DP 1.4a needs DSC or a drop to 4:2:2 sub-sampling to drive 4k 144hz, whereas DP 2.1 does not.

I don't know how much more expensive DP2.1 is over 1.4a, but I can't imagine it adds more than a few dollars to manufacturing costs.

No. Display IC with DP 2.1 port does not cost fortune. Panels are the most expensive.
Any display that needs more than 32 Gbps of bandwidth should have new ports as this ensures uncompressed video signal.
Besides, almost all households have some sources with DP, such as PC and HDMI such as consoles, laptops, etc.
Monitor ports MUST be versatile; always.

BenQ is to be applauded for this innovation that is not present on most 4K/240 OLED monitors. Well done to them.

This may be my next monitor. Wouldn't touch OLED for desktop with a 10" pole with piss poor burn-in warranty.

This ticks all the boxes especially for productivity. Maybe I can finally upgrade my 12 year old Dell 27" 1440p monitor. Needs to be well under the 32" OLED 240Hz monitors though in price.

Despite its quirks, you can get the mini led, 4K160 hz Acer X32 for just $699 right now. Meanwhile, MSI’s 4k 240 hz qd-oled will be just $899. The Benq will need to be no more than $799 to have a snowballs chance in hell at selling and even that feels over priced, unless you’re afraid of Oled’s.

If you don't just game I'd be very afraid of OLED. They aren't designed for productivity at all.

OLED monitors will be worth it if they arrive with 5 year warranty or more with more advanced OLED panels. Here in my country we only have 3 years with Dell and 1 fu*** year with LG TVs.

3 years is best in class for these new OLED panels. No where near enough as these will be $2K in Australia and if I pay that sort of money this monitor better be going strong for at least 10 years.

For me mini led all the way.
